Signing Freeze now?

Post by Royals »

DMB has put out some roto projections based off their DMB projections. This is a new move for them and given the proximity to the actual release date I'd like to propose we start the signing freeze now. These aren't actual projections, but they should be pretty close. Also, with this change, I'm personally concerned they might leak other info early and would prefer to act on this now than react later. It's only 4 days early and the free agent market hasn't exactly been hopping so i don't think it should be a logistical problem for anyone.

But, I'm cool either way. I really don't know how useful they are since it's broken down by percentiles, but not by the stats we'd go by , but normal roto stats. There's no projections on them, just stats from hundreds of seasons simulated, which gives a decent ballpark as to what to expect.

I find it dubious that anybody will use this information to find a sweet FA pickup, and nobody seems to be trading anyway. The markets for both are dead right now, so if you guys want to freeze things I won't oppose, but I don't find it overly necessary.

Done.
I agree that the information they've released might not be useful, but it's a shift in behavior and I'm more concerned about what else they might release.

Shawn, forgive my ignorance, but is the automated waiver system set up to handle multiple claims/make priority kind of things or do we need to do the waiver claims in post form?

Jake, it should be set up that way, but we should probably post as a backup as well, I'm not 100% positive it's going to work for something like this.

Understood. I'll start a thread and make sure everyone gets their players.

I have had the ability to do manuel waivers and have continued to monitor the waivers and waiver order closely ... let me know if you want to do anything differently this go around ...

If you've got the system then rock and roll with it. It worked very well last year.
