Essenberg's a pretty nice pickup there by Detroit. He was at or near the top of my list of best available.

I'm pretty sure it's spelled "Jeyson" with an "e," not "Jayson," but please double-check in case I'm wrong (again).

Re: Draft Discussion Thread
I think Jim has been skipped.
Pick 131 was made Friday at 10:35 AM. Milwaukee (132) was then skipped at 10:35 AM Saturday, starting the clock on the Padres (133), which just ran out about 10 minutes ago. The makeup pick made in the interim by Milwaukee shouldn't affect the clock, I don't think.
DBacks should be up with pick 134 at this point, and they'd have until 10:35 AM Monday.

Re: Draft Discussion Thread
I just updated 133 to Padres when Nils told me this morning. I don't know if Jim remembered it was his pick. I would say he can get a few hours to make his pick since there's been a bit of disruption this weekend with a skipped pick and the wrong team listed for that pick.

That makes sense. I was surprised Jim missed the pick.Nationals wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2026 10:55 am I just updated 133 to Padres when Nils told me this morning. Shitsky. Nice pick man. I was sure he'd last a few more picks and make it to 138 for me. Shit.

I loved Entourage so much back in the day.
Downloaded the movie from Netflix while I was traveling the end of last year. I spent most of the time thinking how exhausting that all looked.
Been in this league a long ass time.

Re: Draft Discussion Thread
I mean, you clipped the 3 worst drafts I posted on my draft history post, so I'm pretty sure you also saw the results of the other 15 drafts listed there, which you should study to improve at your own drafting. I'm terrible at using the sim/software and H2H, but I've never had trouble piling up talent. Just trying to help you out, dude. Whole heckuva lotta teams could benefit from biting when I prematurely release a draftee.Giants wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 9:37 pm2020

Ahhhh the life of a troll! What fun that must be for you! Just drop a little animated GIF from "The Office," or "Big Bang Theory," and a bunch of gibberish, and voila! Hilarity! Internet fun! What a world we live in. I swear man, you should create content. You're a pretty hilarious dude and I think there's an audience out there for your raw, but incisive wit. Go for it!
In case you misplaced the link, and you want to study those drafts: IBC Orioles Draft History.

Re: Draft Discussion Thread
Seriously you can find some useful guys by just scooping my draftees when I get impatient and cut them prematurely, as other teams have in the past. Why don't you just use your superior understanding of baseball player development to crush me in trades? I'm pretty sure JP alone shook me down for draftees Vlad Jr, Matt Chapman and Matt Olson. I gave up prematurely on former overall IBC pick nos. 4 and 25 because I thought they were cooked, but other GMs gave up less than they got back when they dealt for veteran resurgences from former picks Verlander and Springer. \
Here's a few of the guys who could probably help you now, next year, or back when I dumped them:
Jake Bloss
AJ Smith-Shawver
Griff McGarry
Brandon Barriera
Jose Miranda
Jason Adam
Cheslor Cuthbert
In fact, you're all kind of goobers for not making me more trade offers, given my history of dealing away future stars. People are too timid, then they're annoyingly indignant when you make an offer they don't like. I promise not be either of those things if you make me a shitty offer. Let's see some offers! Fire the fuck away, bitches!
EDIT: If you're interested in Julio, Gunnar, James Wood or Eury Perez, do NOT fire away bitches. I repeat, stand down (bitches). You are probably definitely wasting your time.
Also, it would be cool if we had an official archive of some kind because I'm too lazy to do the work to figure out my own all-time GM W-L record, let alone other GMs' records. It would certainly be interesting to compare the records of some of our more tenured GMs, though. Some data person please volunteer for this project.

Re: Draft Discussion Thread
I am out of picks but there remains one more player I would like to select post-draft if he is still available. Are we planning to do post-draft waivers this year?

Re: Draft Discussion Thread
I mean, I'm talking about guys that dripped off the end of my roster and were all late round picks (except for Barriera, who was a second rounder). Cuthbert was pick 147, so I'd call him a semi-useful player at that spot. Smith-Shawver was 129 and Bloss was a NDFA after the draft. Useful guys I shouldn't have dropped (not so much "studs" as you described them).Royals wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2026 10:17 amDon't think this list of studs hits like you seem to think it does, blah.Orioles wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2026 1:33 am Seriously you can find some useful guys by just scooping my draftees when I get impatient and cut them prematurely, as other teams have in the past...

Re: Draft Discussion Thread
Once the draft concludes, all undrafted players will be open to be acquired via waivers. Email any pickups you'd like to make in order to rosters@ibcleague. We'll give it about 48 hours and then we'll process any requests and JP will post on the site.
