Scott Lewis, LH SP (Cleveland)
...If Lewis, the Tribe's third-round pick in the 2004 First-Year Player Draft, is to be a part of the club's plans in '08, he'll have to build off the strong second half he put together at Double-A Akron last season. He went 5-1 with a 2.90 ERA over his last seven starts.
"Toward the end of the year, my offspeed changeup got a little bit better," Lewis said. "I had a much better second half than first half. I'm looking to start this season off like I did at the end of last season, instead of being so-so at the beginning of the year and turning it on at the end."
By the end of last season, Lewis' pitch-count threshold was nearing 100. That was a good sign for a guy who was limited to about 70 pitches the previous year, as he was rebounding from shoulder tendinitis that bothered him in '05...
