Reds putting Thome on the block

Since I'm exploring a lot of different trade ideas these days, I'd thought I'd test the market for Thome. I'd defenitely need a 1B back, preferrably younger. Could be a lesser bat, but I'd need an upgrade elsewhere.

Wells is still on the block, though I have talked with more than a handful of teams and have gotten several intriguing offers. I'm going over scenarios now where he will be moved, and he may be gone soon.

Mussina is out there for those that need a SP, also Doug Davis. I believe Moose was pretty unlucky last year and given his 3 year splits I think he should at least be league average.

Hanley, Wright, Cain, Dunn have all been asked about - those are probably the hardest to get.

I need to keep the deals rollin a bit. I want to shake things up a little. Primary goal is to get a RFer. 2b upgrade would be nice, I can send Iwamura.

Thome is still available for all those AL teams interested. I don't need a 1B back necessarily. But I require a good young LF if no 1b comes back. I'm looking for an "elite" pen arm as well, with the departure of Papelbon. Not going to take much more than that to land Thome guys.. maybe a really good prospect depending on the players involved.

Thome can put you over the top! His last 2 seasons:

Code: Select all

Year Team G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS
2006 CWS 143 490 108 141 26 0 42 109 107 147 0 0 .288 .416 .598 1.014
2007 CWS 130 432 79 119 19 0 35 96 95 134 0 1 .275 .410 .563 .973
Money y'all! Someone in the ALC needs Thome to topple those pesky Twins and Royals. SOMEONE in the ALW needs Thome to topple the titanic M's and A's. SOMEONE IN THE ALE MUST.. I repeat MUST want to add a near 1.000OPS bat to seize the contested division.

Heck, SOMEONE in the NL should do plenty fine with him at 1B.. I have. Get you're offers in.
