When there's a lull, does anyone else hear a buzzing roar like someone's warming up a turbo-prop at the other end of the field? I can hear it on both my tv's.

I'm not watching the game, but I'll listen for it on the radio broadcast.

Everytime a team comes into that stadium, and its a big game, they get fucked by the refs and the stadium noise. I cant beleive that team hasnt been investigated for cheating. Clearly there were calls made against the Chargers that were bullshit.

I didn't notice anything with the noise, but it's tougher to notice when you're listening on the radio.
The refs on the other hand... the Colts must have photos of them all having group sex or something because the refs will do anything to help them win a big game... and thye clearly needs it since he's won all of 1 big game in the last decade or so.

i mean i dont want to start a fight but you have to be blind if you dont think the pats get calls either. In the past 4 years ive never seen more teams get calls over then the pats and the colts. So dont just say its the colts because its the pats as well. Dont think so look at the ravens game.

I'm not saying the Pats don't, but the Colts certainly get more. Heck we got an official apology from the Commish after the fiasco in the AFC title game last year and the game this year v. the Colts was like having to play 11 v. 12 for 60 minutes.

Okay, I'm sick and tired of the bullshit about the noise in the RCA Dome. Hey guys, its a dome. Guess what that means? Unlike an outdoor stadium, all the noise stays INSIDE. Maybe that's why it is louder? Its also the smallest stadium in the league, so that's why it is louder maybe? And before you bitch about the Lucas Oil Field being a dome, Indy hosts the Final Four every 4 or so years, you need a big indoor facility to do that and Conseco Fieldhouse isn't big enough for that
The Colts get a ton of calls. The Pats do as well. I don't care what the rule said, but the Pats first Super Bowl was the result of a fumble being overturned. You can insinuate that the Colts cheat because the dome is loud all you want, but only one team was caught cheating this year and it wasn't the Colts.
I sure don't remember an official apology from the NFL after last year's AFC title game. You got a link to prove it? Or is that just sour grapes for blowing an 18 point second half lead?
The D sucked today. Couldn't stop Jackson from being a security blanket for Rivers and gave up one big play to Sproles, which was what I was afraid of. If couple of bounces break the Colts way, like Tomlinson's fumble not hitting Bethea's foot, totally different game but that's the way football is. It sucks and I'm pissed but oh well. I do wish that fan would've jumped down and beat the shit out of Rivers after the game though, because there's no way someone should be that cocky when they're only good because of a stud RB and one of the top TEs in football.

NFL apology Colt comfort for Hobbs
By John Tomase / Patriots Notebook
Boston Herald Sports Writer
Saturday, July 28, 2007 - Updated: 10:18 AM EST
FOXBORO - Ellis Hobbs has insisted since the AFC title game loss to the Colts that he was improperly flagged for pass interference in the end zone.
The league not only agrees with him, it let him know it.
Hobbs received a letter during the offseason apologizing for the blown call, which led to the touchdown that tied the game at 21 in the third quarter.
ìItÃs a little late for that now,î Hobbs said with a sigh.
The penalty came on second-and-7 from the Patriots 19. Colts quarterback Peyton Manning targeted a streaking Reggie Wayne down the sideline, but Hobbs stayed with him stride for stride, cutting short his pursuit to avoid the contact that would have resulted in a penalty. He watched WayneÃs eyes, slightly turned his head and leaped while the ball descended. It hit him in the left arm and Hobbs was immediately flagged by referee Bill Carollo.
TV analyst Phil Simms labeled it face-guarding - the act of not turning to look for the ball - which is no longer illegal. The play is only a penalty if Hobbs makes contact with the receiver, which he was careful not to do.
Manning then hit former Patriots defensive lineman Dan Klecko with a 1-yard score, and the two-point conversion tied the game.
Hobbs has insisted ever since that the call should not have been made, a point he made forcefully after the game.
ìIÃll say it publicly - that wasnÃt pass interference,î Hobbs said. ìI didnÃt touch the guy. The ball hit me in the back of the arm. He put his hands up and IÃm just trying to play through his hands. I didnÃt look back, but I didnÃt touch him. You make the call. Watch that replay and tell me if itÃs pass interference.î
ItÃs little consolation now, but Hobbs was right.

I do agree with you Aaron on one thing, that being that Rivers deserved a beatdown. Trash talking the fans like that is completely uncalled for. It's also par for the course with Rivers, the dude is a prick.

The Pats still had a chance to win last year and didn't. I'll watch the tape tomorrow of that game, but I think the pass interfernece with Hobbs was face guarding, when he jumped and put his hands up but didn't look for the ball. In that case, it don't matter if he was touched or not.
Yeah, he hurt himself, he wasn't even touched on the play. And if you listen to him talk, I'd swear he's halfway retarded

Aaron, if you read the article, it mentions that Hobbs was face-guarding... which is not illegal in the NFL anymore and was not illegal at the time.
"TV analyst Phil Simms labeled it face-guarding - the act of not turning to look for the ball - which is no longer illegal. The play is only a penalty if Hobbs makes contact with the receiver, which he was careful not to do."
That said, a lot of refs, and TV analysts, still make calls on face-guarding. But again, that rule was specifically changed a couple years ago. It's not illegal as long as you don't make contact, and Hobbs didn't make contact, thus the official apology.

Doesn't it just feel like all is right with the world when Peyton Manning loses his first playoff game of the year?

Yeah, things are back to normal. I haven't read any quotes, did he blame someone else for it yet? His O line? Coach for creating a distracting "Will he retire?" atmosphere? Receivers for letting the INT's happen?
