Might be a few records the Pats didn't break tonight.... but they don't matter. Let's just rename the NFL Record Book, the Patriots Book.

After the 19-0 Super Bowl that pretty much has to settle the Brady-Manning debate right?

Still think the Eagles had the best shot to beat them...with a back up QB no-less....

if the Pats go 19-0 you can put Brady ahead of Manning, and put him and Montana as the 2 best QBs of all time. If the Pats don't win the superbowl the 16-0 was all for nothing.

The eagles played a great game. I was honestly worried about the giants coming back though until i saw two things...
1. I remembered they had Eli Manning as their QB.
2. I realized they might have some of the dumbest players in the NFL on their team. None of them seemed interested in trying to stop the clock during their last drive to save time for a score following a potential on-side kick. Thank you Brandon Jacobs for eating up the clock.
On top of that, they injured or aggravated injuries to 3 starters and a backup. If any of them miss the playoff game, they're going to be kicking themselves.
Can't wait to see the ratings on this game.

1. Are you saying you wouldn't already put Brady ahead of Manning?
2. I think the Patriots AND the Giants (and just about anyone who knows anything about football and isn't an obsessed Hatriot) would disagree with you that the 16-0 was al for nothing. If they lose in the playoffs then they don't go side by side with the 72 dolphins or get put on the very short list for the greatest team ever but 16-0 is still an amazing accomplishment, the kind that it would be very unlikely to see again in our lifetimes.

what kind of statements are those. Eli manning was 22-32 251 4tds and 1 int. Im pretty sure you couldn't have asked for a better game from him then he did. And Dumbest players in the NFL? Come on Bren the Giants played great all game, it was a very big moral victory for them. You can credit the pats all you want, but dont knock the giants after that game.

Actually Bren, you are right that they will go down as one of if not the greatest teams of all time, but if you ACTUALLY have listened to anyone, they all same the same thing if the Patriots dont win the super bowl the 16-0 is meaningless. Shula will still pop the champagne if they dont win it all.

Everyone in New England irrationally hates any Manning. I'm sure they hate Cooper and Archie too for their charity work. The one thing that I noticed last night is what a dirty team the Pats are. Vince Wilfolk poking Brandon Jacobs in the eye and it NOT being a penalty. What'd that big coon think, he was a piece of watermellon? 16-0 means nothing if you don't win the Super Bowl. That 98 Vikings team should be considered one of the best teams of all time by record and stats, but they didn't make the Super Bowl so they're never mentioned.
As for renaming the record book, Bren, I and I know a lot of other people, not just Colts fans, look at Brady's TD record like Bonds home run record. There's a difference between getting a record and getting a record with class. Peyton was never throwing for TDs up 21 with 3 minutes left in the game. Colts had a big lead, Peyton was pulled early in the 4th. I'm pretty sure in Week 17 that year he was out after 1 series. Now I think I'll go watch my DVD of the AFC title game from last year. What happened in that? Oh, the Colts rallied from 18 down and Tom Brady threw an interception at the end and then blamed everything on his WRs?

Apparently you turned the game off before their final drive where they did nothing but eat up time by running the ball, Manning taking his dear sweet time getting to the line of scrimmage and generally run around looking confused. The giants, as I said before, played a very good game, up until then when they turned into the Idiot Brigade

it doesnt matter what they did at the end of the game, it was a meaningless game. If it meant something for the Giants you can criticize, but it was meaningless so let them take as much time as they want.

Aaron, we'll put aside for now the fact that if you ever use a word like 'Coon' to refer to a black person ever again on this board I will not rest until you're tossed from the league...
Comparing Bonds (who cheated) to Brady (who didn't) is the type of stupidity only someone like yourself would come up with. As for Class. Once again, Brady is the height of class, the consummate teammate and professional. Manning routinely blames others (like his "idiot kicker" or his offensive line) for his own failures. I can't imagine Brady EVER insulting another player, much less his own teammate even if the kicker WAS an idiot or if the offensive line WAS to blame. That's how a classy player and teammate acts

Nobody who actually watched that game could think it was meaningless, or that either team thought it was meaningless. Did you actually watch the game?

I watched the game, and it was a meaningless game for the Giants. The Giants played hard because they didn't want to see the Pats go 16-0. The only thing the Pats had to play for was to go 16-0. Other than a few records it was a COMPLETELY MEANINGLESS GAME.

given what Jake would be saying this time last year about Brady, let's just take that from him and enjoy it.

True, though he still hasn't answered the question. I don't think there's a doubt in anyone's mind (except for some Colts fans) that Brady is the superior QB.
And since Jake seems to have forgotten, a SB victory this year would give Brady more Superbowl wins than any other starting QB in NFL history. He's already got 3, same as Joe Montana.

I only consider the Patriots 10-0 at this point...
You can't count the 6 games against the Jets, Bills & Dolphins....
That's two of the three worst records in the whole NFL (Jets & Dolphins).
Funny how no one talks about that though.

Schedule included:
Steelers (division winners)
Colts (defending champs/ division winners/ #2 team in the AFC)
Chargers (division winners)
Cowboys (#1 NFC Seed)
who else are they supposed to beat?

the jets bills and dolphins are all pathetic but you can also argue that they are bad because they play in the AFC

Do you also want to mention that the '72 Dolphins had one of the weakest Schedules of any SB winner ever?

Nope...I know absolutely nothing of the '72 Dolphins...what I do know is that I'm a Jets fan, and I've seen high school teams play better football then either they, Miami or Buffalo played for the majority of this season.
I might actually be impressed if they were in the NFC east and beat the Giants, Eagles & Redskins 2x each.

Great News!
The Pats have the 8th pick in this year's draft thanks to the 49ers! This Pick was received for Seattle's 1st rounder in 2007, which NE had as compensation for Deion Branch.
Meanwhile NE got Randy Moss for a 4th rounder.
