The Hanshin Tigers said Wednesday they acquired right-hander Scott Atchison while announcing the signing of a new salary deal with Jeff Williams, who was mentioned in a recent report on drug use in the major leagues.

Atchison, 31, agreed to terms with Hanshin after a season divided between the San Francisco Giants and Triple-A Fresno. His major league career also includes stints with the Seattle Mariners in 2004 and 2005.
