The place to come to talk about all things IBC related. Or not IBC related. Just keep it reasonably respectful.

holy shitballs- Maybin/Miller traded

Post by Cardinals »

MLB.com is reporting that the Tigers are set to acquire Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis from the Marlins for Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller and four more prospects.
Rick Porcello is going to be awfully lonely as the only member of Detroit's farm system next year. If true, this puts the Tigers right back among the elite in the AL and further swings the balance of power between the leagues. Detroit will have to hope to find a taker for Brandon Inge, who is owed $18 million over the next three years.

Wow! I saw that rumor this morning, but didn't really think anything close to that would actually get done.

Shocking......but I'll say, I'm glad they are going to the AL Central and not to the Los Angeles Angels of Anahiem of California of the United States of America of North America of Planet Earth of the Milky Way Galaxy.

Not even Sabes would make that trade. He only makes bad deals when the player coming back has some name recognition value, Inge doesn't measure up.

I'll be in Vegas in January for a conference.....I'm sure I could find time to sqeeze in an IBC Winter Meetings/Drunken/Bullshit session during some part of that trip.

Only not during football season, cause I get the feeling me and Gabe would be in a drunken fight at some point with some Pats fans

ìIn some respects, you go, ëuh-oh,í ì White Sox general manager Ken Williams said when informed of the reported eight-player trade that brings Cabrera and faded All-Star Dontrelle Willis to Detroit. ìIn other regards, you go, ëGood.í ... One thing thatís difficult when you make a decision like that, one that is made for the short term, is that what youíre trying to do had better work,î Williams said. ìIf it doesnít, youíre swimming upstream.î
