will be nothing short of mediocrity. its my blog, so i'll be as blunt as i choose to be, and i will start by saying this. If you support the BCS, you are an idiot. A bonafide, certified idiot.

College football is a joke. An absolute joke. I'll say it to any player who plays it (and have at my university), any coach who coaches it, or any fan who supports it. It's championship means nothing. Being crowned champions in college football is the equivalent of getting the high score on an arcade game. Put your initials in, gloat, and then realize it doesn't mean a thing.

Ohio State is gonna get into the championship game (probably) simply by sitting at home. What a glorious sport. Every other sport makes you play to get to the championship. Nope, not college football. Sit at home. We'll take care of it all for you. Why should you have to earn it? That's crazy talk. Instead let's just talk about which two-loss team should play OSU. Fuck let's forget Kansas they lost one game. And let's not mention Hawaii who went undefeated. Winning all your games isn't enough to get you a shot at the championship. Good try though. Maybe next year every so called "great team" will lose four games, and if you go undefeated and bribe a few pollsters, maybe you'll slide into that number two slot.

It drives me insane to listen to these anchors talk about college football as if it's the greatest thing ever. Or to hear them try to explain why the system isn't flawed. None of it makes sense. My favorite defense - "The regular season means so much." Bullshit. The regular season means nothing for half the teams in football. No matter what they do, their games mean nothing. Why? Because of polls. Fucking polls. People's opinion. You think the regular season means something? Ask Hawaii how much the regular season means.

I will say this for college football though. It sure is entertaining to make fun of and tear apart. It is amazing how so many people have voiced their concerns over its idiocracy yet nothing is done. College football is okay with having a broken system because America goes along with it.

A playoff, like every other sport known to man, is the simplest solution in the world. Yet they can't handle it.

And it's not as if the BCS is the only thing wrong with college football. There are plenty of other things. it's overtime system for one. You gotta love a system that makes your kicker more valuable than your defense.

whatever, I'm done. if you support this system you are a menace to all sports and should quickly look to acquire a job at ESPN with the rest of your kind.

There's too much money to be made in the December bowls that nobody cares about to do a playoff system. That's the only way Sun Belt schools and other small conferences that get that one bowl bid are going to make any money aside from being paid $500,000 to go to Florida and get blown out.

Hawaii's undefeated, but everyone was afraid to play them except Washington. Its just like college basketball. Even though Gonzaga's a major program now, they still have to go on the road to play marquee opponents. Nobody except IU wants to go into Southern Illinois or other Missouri Valley teams home courts and play them. Georgia had the balls 2 years ago to play Boise State and beat them. Otherwise its easier for those major conference schools to play it safe, schedule MAC teams, maybe a crappy major conference team like a Stanford, Syracuse or Vandy and let the system reward them.

All I know is all hell's gonna break loose tonight. Gonna be fun to watch. We won't ever get a playoff, but maybe this year will give us a plus one model where the top 4 teams play each other and I would be fine with that. Closest thing we're getting to a playoff my friend

Wow. Mizzou got jobbed. I don't get how Kansas could get a BCS bid over Missouri. College football is stupid. KU lost one game... to Missouri. Missouri lost 2 games, both to OU - one of the best 5 teams in the country, and waaaay better than anyone Kansas even played. What a absolute joke this sport is.

The point of competitive sports is to win. What's the effing point of college football if there's not really a winner at the end of the season? Maybe at the end of each game, instead of going by the final score, they should just have some random people who only watched part of the game on TV vote to decide who they think should win. I mean, that's how the "champion" is decided, so why not just go all the way. What an effin' joke.

The good news is, once this crap is over in January, there will be more college basketball on TV. Yeah, I think from now on I'll stick to sports where they play actual games to see which of the best teams can keep beating the other ones until they're the only one left.

I watched that game against Miami today. I thought Miami looked beatable, but the Johnny's just didn't have that go-to scorer...and quite frankly haven't since Eric Barkley left early.

If the Red Men (yeah, I said it, not crappy Red Storm) are competitive, I'll follow college baseketball, if they are not, I count the days until it's over, and major sport networks start focusing on sring baseball.

I keep hearing that Norm Roberts just needs time, and he knows what he's doing, and he's a good recruiter, etc. I'd love to see them become at least a decent program again, b/c a presence in NYC is huge for the BE, but so far I'm not seein' it. The Hoyas were headed the way of the Johnnies under Esherick, quickly becoming an irrelevant occasional NIT team. Granted, what JTIII has done in 3 or 4 years is pretty amazing, but still, if he can turn them back into a top program in that short of a time, you'd think over 3 or 4 years somebody could make St. John's competitive again. Damn shame.

they got some descent recruits this year, i think 2 or 3 three stars and 1 four star. They were always a pretty solid program back in early 2000 when they had marcus hatten and were always a team that made or came close to making the tourny. Ever since the Big East went under the makeover they never really stood a chance. Its unfortunate but you can always count of them potentially upsetting a team or 2 every year.
