Hunter to the Angels!

Great day for the Texas Rangers...despite their own efforts.

Torii Hunter, who is coming off a career year of .287/.334/.505 with declining defense, will be raking in $18 million until he's 37. He joins albatross Gary Matthews Jr, who is owed another $44 million himself and is coming off a .252/.323/.419. GMJ is also locked up until he's 37. If the Angels want Vlad Guerrero to continue with the team past 2008, they will be paying their OF in the range of $50 million dollars per year and have one really good, one solid and one subpar outfielder, all headed to their mid-late 30's.

Oh and they owe Garret Anderson $12 million this year as well. Go Tony Reagins!

Adenhart, Willits, Wood to Florida for Miggy.

Good for both teams.

Vlad/Miggy/Hunter/Anderson/Matthews...big improvement over last year.

That sounds horrible for Florida.

Still sounds hoorrible. Santan is nothing special. The hype never died down around Santana from when he was being compared to Pedro before people found out he was a couple years older than he really was.

Bren, you're still mad about Texas trading for Ervin instead of hearing your offer of "Carpenter".

In any case, the rumor that I've heard has both Wood and Kendrick in it, along with pitching.

In this case, yes, though not nearly as annoyed as Texas was when he found out I was prepared to send him Carpenter.
