The Starting Nine

1B: James Loney
2B: Michael Hollimon/Jorge Cantu/Tony Pena
3B: Brandon Inge
SS: Jason Bartlett
LF: Nate McLouth/Joey Gathright
CF: Chris Young
RF: Alex Rios
DH: Kevin Kouzmanoff
That's a nice young core of players...of course, I inherited Towles, Hollimon & Pena, Inge, McLouth & Gathright, Young, and Kouzmanoff, so I can't really take credit for it.
2B and LF appear to be the Orioles' two main offensive areas of concern. LF should be serviceable with McLouth and Gathright giving me options, and if Hollimon gets a decent projection, I'd be willing to give up defense to get his bat in the lineup...otherwise Cantu may have to suffice. Moving to the AL also allows me to move Kouzmanoff's bat to the DH slot, while picking up some much needed defense at the hot corner with Brandon Inge.
Overall, this lineup should be competitive, but ultimately, it's another year or two away.
