Call me crazy, but a change as significant as adding a bidding system strikes me as something that should require a league-wide vote. It's a major rule change and there was ZERO public discussion. Frankly it seems like the sort of unilateral move I might have made back in the day and then been pilloried (rightly) for making. The ExCo was formed to put an end to that sort of unilateral move, but the ExCo wasn't empowered to make such wholesale changes without any public discussion or input.

But then, the very simple fact that I'm the one calling for a vote will almost certainly increase resistance to a vote and guarantee that it won't happen.

I didn't even think about this for a second...and frankly couldn't care either way. I think ExCo came up with a reasonable decision and I didn't have to think about it for a second.

I think calling for a vote is reasonable, and we'll probably have one on playoff h2h as well (my opinion on this matter obviously determined by how the next few games go:D). I think that this will pass overwhelmingly. I also think no one wants to think about voting generally for a little while

I agree on the playoff H2H vote. And a pass vote on the bidding system is probably pretty likely, but there should be a discussion (as there has been for playoff H2H) and a vote.
