Donn Roach signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the KT Wiz of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Roach elected to become a free agent last month after being outrighted off the Athletics' 40-man roster. The 26-year-old right-hander has (or rather had) a 5.77 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in 39 career innings at the major league level. He should find better results in the KBO.

SB Nation's Chris Cotillo reports that
Matt Duffy has signed with the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan.
Unofficially known as the "other" Matt Duffy, the 29-year-old spent nearly all of 2016 at Triple-A with the Astros and Rangers, batting .229/.297/.387 with 14 home runs. He should get a better opportunity and a bigger paycheck overseas.

Danny Worth has agreed to a one-year, $700,000 contract with the SK Wyverns of the Korea Baseball Organization.
That's much more guaranteed money that he would have found in North America. Worth, 31, hit .179/.200/.231 in 40 plate appearances this past season for the Astros before getting released in July. He holds a .223/.281/.287 career batting line in Major League Baseball.

Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Indians "are in the process of" sending right-hander
Toru Murata to a Japanese team.
Murata made his MLB debut in 2015 at age 30 and got rocked for five runs -- three earned -- in 3 1/3 innings as the Indians fell 8-0 to the Orioles. He hasn't appeared in a major league game since. The native of Osaka, Japan posted a 3.78 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 62/24 K/BB ratio in 102 1/3 innings (10 starts, 23 relief appearances) this past season at Triple-A Columbus.

Anthony Ranaudo has signed a one-year contract with the Samsung Lions of the Korea Baseball Organization.
The deal is worth $1.05 million, which is far more than he stood to make in North America. Ranaudo, 27, had a 7.01 career ERA in 86 career major league innings.

According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, right-hander
Spencer Patton has signed with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars of Japan's Central League.
Patton appeared in 16 games with the Cubs this past season while posting a 5.48 ERA and 22/14 K/BB ratio over 21 1/3 innings. He'll only be 29 in February, so there could still be time for him to give MLB another shot at some point down the line.

Stefen Romero has agreed to a contract with the Orix Buffaloes of Japan.
It's a seven-figure guarantee, per FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, which is probably much more than Romero would have been able to find in North America. The 28-year-old outfielder batted .235/.263/.294 in 19 plate appearances this past season for the Mariners.

The Chunichi Dragons of the Nippon Professional Baseball league in Japan announced Saturday that they've signed
Alex Guerrero to a one-year, $1.3 million contract.
There were rumblings late Friday that the two sides were close to an agreement. The Dodgers are still on the hook for $5 million of the $28 million contract that Guerrero signed with the club in 2013. The 30-year-old appeared in just 117 games for the Dodgers, slashing .224/.251/.414 with 11 homers, 36 RBI and a 63/17 K/BB ratio in 243 plate appearances

LHP
Pat Dean has signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with the Kia Tigers of the Korean Baseball Organization.
Dean elected free agency after the Twins optioned him to Triple-A last month. The left-hander struggled in his first taste of major league action this year, compiling a dismal 6.28 ERA over 67 1/3 innings. The $900,000 he'll get in Korea is far more than he would have received playing in North America.

The Athletics have sold RHP
Ryan Brasier's contract to the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of Japan's Central League.
Brasier re-signed with the A's on a minor league deal at the end of October, but apparently he found a better opportunity overseas. The 29-year-old pitched exclusively at the Triple-A level this past season and hasn't appeared in the majors since 2013 as a member of the Angels.

Mariners released RHP
Arquimedes Caminero.
Caminero is headed to Japan to play for the Yomiuri Giants. The 29-year-old is one of the hardest throwers in baseball and holds a decent 3.83 ERA in his career, but control has often been an issue. He'll try his luck overseas.

Marlins designated LHP
Elvis Araujo for assignment.
The move clears 40-man roster space for Brad Ziegler. Araujo, who throws hard but often has no idea where it's going, is expected to play for the Chunichi Dragons in Japan next season.
Edit: (1/7/17) LHP Elvis Araujo has signed a one-year contract with Japan's Chunichi Dragons.
The deal is worth about $689,000. He'll be joined by journeyman right-hander Jorge Rondon, who signed with Chunichi on Friday. Araujo elected free agency after the Marlins designated him for assignment last month. He posted a disappointing 5.60 ERA over 32 appearances for the Phillies in 2016.
