Philadelphia's 4-0 win over Washington clinched the NL East for the Phillies.

It's Nick's sixth trips to the playoffs (2002 AL West, 2010 NL East, 2013 NL Wild Card, 2014-15 NL East), and third consecutive NL East title.

Seattle clinched the AL West tonight with a 4-1 win over the Angels.

The division title is Brennan's sixth, and fifth AL West title (03, 04, 06, 10). It's the first time since 2010 that the M's have made the playoffs.

Detroit clinched the AL Central late last week, and it's Pat G's sixth trip to the IBC playoffs. Since rejoining in 2012, Pat has now won the AL Central three times (2012, 2014, 2016), in addition to a Wild Card in 2015. Pat also won the NL Central (Houston, 2004) and AL Central (Cleveland, 20015).

Congrats to Danny V in Toronto for clinching the AL East in his return to the division. It's Dan's sixth straight playoff trip (2011-13 NL East champs, 2014-15 NL Wild Card champs), and eighth trip overall (2008-2009 NL East champions). Overall, Vacek now has six division titles, and this is his first in the AL.

Pittsburgh clinched homefield through the NLCS, and with another win (or Detroit loss) will clinch homefield through the WS. The Pirates will play the WC winner, setting up San Francisco and Philadelphia for an NLDS rematch.

Detroit just needs either a win or Toronto loss to clinch homefield in the AL.

The Yankees are 4 games back in the loss of both Baltimore and KC, but does get a series with Baltimore to end the year. We'll see if JB has some magic this week.

In the NL, we've got a three-team race for the two spots, but it looks like the Reds will grab one of the two. Starting this week, St. Louis and San Diego are separated by a game in the loss. The Cardinals get a4-game set with the Reds, then end the season against the Pirates. The Padres will face off against the Dodgers before ending the regular season against Arizona.

Congrats to the Giants and Jake for winning the NL West for a second consecutive year. The Rev also took the A's to the playoffs in 2007-08 and 2011-13. It's the sixth division title for Hamlin to go along with one Wild Card (2012).

Congrats to Ken and the Reds for clinching one of the two NL Wild Cards. It's the eighth time Ken has taken a team to the playoffs, winning the NL Central in 2005 and 2006 with the Astros, before a 2009 wild card with the Nats and 2010 with the Reds. It's the fourth straight Wild Card berth (2013-16) for Cinci.

Wild card updates:

Kansas City and Baltimore both just need a win to clinch an AL Wild Card spot. JB trails the O's and Royals by 3 games headed into the final weekend. The Yanks play the Orioles.

In the NL, Aaron is up one game on Bren for the second Wild Card, but has to play host to the Pirates. The Padres get the D'Backs.

Kansas City clinched a Wild Card berth on Friday night, marking the second straight year Gudim has reached the playoffs. Gudim's Royals won the AL Central in 2013 and again in 2015. It's the third time in Gudim's IBC career he's made the playoffs.

Baltimore also clinched a playoff spot on Friday night, marking the third straight year that the O's have made the playoffs. Baltimore won a wild card in 2014 before winning the AL East last year. The O's will face off against the Royals in the Wild Card game in the AL.

St. Louis clinched a playoff spot on Saturday, marking the first time since 2008 the Cardinals have made the playoffs. It's Aaron's fifth trip to the playoffs, and fourth wild card berth (2004, 2005, 2008). Aaron won the NL Central in 2007.

The Cards will travel to Cinci to take on Ken's Reds in the Wild Card game. The winner will head to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates in the NLDS.

Sure will.

I'll get to posting the ALDS and NLDS boxes in the next couple of days. As you may have deduced, SF knocked off PHI in 5 and then STL in 7 to advance to Hamlin's first-ever WS. Congrats!
