In a pre-GM meetings report for FOXSports.com, the always-informative Tracy Ringolsby writes that the Giants have let teams know that 23-year-old RHP Tim Lincecum can be had.

In 24 starts this season for the Giants, in his rookie season, Lincecum struck out 150 hitters through 146 innings while winning seven games with a 4.00 ERA, during which opponents hit .226 against him.

Ringolsby is smoking crack.
"Ringolsby leads off his article with: "After giving up three of its top five pitching prospects in July of 2006 to acquire Livan Hernandez from Arizona ... Arizona finds itself searching for rotation help." Ignoring the obvious gaffe that they made the trade with themselves, the Diamondbacks actually gave up only two prospects and the deal was done in August."
Not even the Giants are THAT remarkably stupid. if they are, then 10:1 odds are that Lincecum has a HUGE problem in his arm that they're not talking about.

Lincecum has no arm troubles whatsoever.

So you hope :-)
I still think it's just Ringolsby being a retard. if it's not though and he is on the block, I wouldn't touch him.

I bet Sabean said it, but the Giants have a history of saying "Sure we'll talk about [insert big name prospect/star here]" and then when teams come calling with offers they say "Well we can't give him up for that but would you like [Ray Durham, Dave Roberts, Rich Aurilia, etc.]"
