Geez that's awful. Maybe he can overcome it, I mean there was that one armed guy that played during WWII

When I was little my mom had a boss who pitched for the Phillies, I'll see if I can find who he was, but he had a similar freak accident where he was sliding into 2nd and took a throw from the short stop straight to the eye and it blinded him. I believe it ended his career though.

If he can't pitch again, I hope the offer to give him a spot in the front office or something like that. That really bites.

The Red Sox had a pitcher a couple years back who was blind in one eye. Don't recall his name, he wasn't all that good.
