For the record - I still think it really sucks that whomever is at their computer at 9:30am EST has an advantage to ZiPS signings. I know some projections get released early, and blah blah blah - but I think it is definitely a biased system.
2008-2023 Mets: 1,054-1,223...463%
2006-2008 Rockies: 242-244...498%

IBC Total: 1,296-1,467...469%

Yea, adding in some kind of a waiver system might be something good for the ExCo to discuss.

That and trading of draft picks during the draft. But that's for another day.

Totally with you John, we used to have a signing freeze when projections came out to avoid this exact issue. If anyone has suggestions on how to fix that'd be great.

Pat wins (first post is first one processed). Updating Broadway to on Tigers.

While I have certainly benefited from being at the computer at the right time, I would agree that it is an unfair system.

I agree as well, but how long would the waivers last? Would it be team-by-team -- i.e., all Giants players from 9-5 today would be on waivers?

In BCMBL we due a true 24 hours from the timestamp of the ZiPS posting - not perfect, but gives everyone an opportunity to check out the internet at some point over a 24 hour period.

Just for the players in that organization/on that ZiPS list, or for all players? The latter seems unnecessary.

Just for the team whose ZipS was posted that day ... not perfect as some players numbers are released in chats, articles, e-mails, etc. but more fair then our current system.

Gotta say, I wouldn't mind it.. you east coasters def. have an advantage as your at work signing guys when I'm getting kids ready to go to school/daycare and driving into work myself... I don't necessarily know the solution, but I think its good to have these discussions.

Yeah, I'm totally fine going with something like that. Ultimately, I don't think any of these players have much bearing on anything. The sim freaks that DMB produced (see: Hiram Bocachica's MVP season) don't really exist in ZiPS, but there are relievers and spot starters that show up.
