Checked himself into rehab for alcohol abuse, foregoing the postseason. What do I do with him?

If we are attempting to reflect "real life" I suppose he would be IBC-ineligible ... however, I can see an argument that this is not a suspension nor an injury that he could not have pitched through. Definitely precedent setting (and we may never see this situation again). I do not have a strong one way or the other but because we sometimes make decisions to play guys in the IBC late season and post season even though they are not playing in real life and since this akin to an injury he could play through I would side with letting stay active on an IBC roster.

In the alternate IBC universe CC is sober and doesn't need to go to rehab

I hate having to rule here but I think we try to mimic real life typically win whether a player would be playing and CC has clearly foregone the playoffs. If he were on a team that didn't make the playoffs I think it would be a different answer though, which I'm not sure is fair.

This is tough. The closest analogy might be to what we'd do if (a) the real Twins had made the playoffs and (b) the IBC Cubs did. Would we let Ervin Santanta play? His code didn't use PEDs but he did. We'd say no to him and I think, by that measure, we should also say no to CC.
