Pittsburgh clinched homefield advantage through the World Series over the weekend, for the seventh straight year.

Philadelphia, Miami have clinched playoff berths in the National League. The Phillies have a magic number of one.

Kansas City and Detroit have clinched playoff berths in the American League. Kansas City is up two on Detroit headed into the last week of play.

Baltimore clinched the AL East on 9/28, congrats to Sander on his first-ever division title, and his second consecutive playoff appearance.

Philadelphia clinched the NL East on 9/29. It's Nick's third straight playoff appearance and second consecutive NL East crown. Nick also won the NL East in 2010.

Minnesota has at the least clinched a tie for the second wild card, and just needs a win or Blue Jays/Red Sox loss to clinch the second wild card.

Can we talk about the other end of it?

Mets/Braves in a dead tie for the #1 overall pick. Angels are 3 games back but solidly in place for #3 overall.

Damn you NL East, I wanted the 1st Overall pick but my division is shit and somehow I win games in division I shouldn't...seriously, look at my offense, it is a fucking AAA squad at best.

Haha, I was just looking at that last night actually. Braves would win in event of a tie, unless you somehow end up outscored a ton over this last week.

Minnesota clinched the second wild card spot in the American League. It'll be Andrew's fourth postseason appearance, and his first since 2008. We'll see if Bumgarner can carry his MLB '14 magic into IBC '15.

Kansas City clinched the AL Central last night, as well as home field through the ALCS. It's Gudim's second playoff appearance in the IBC (2013).

Texas clinched the AL West last night, Brett P's fourth straight playoff appearance, and second consecutive AL West title. The Rangers have now won the AL West three of the last four years (2012, 2014, 2015).

The Rangers will head to Baltimore to face the Orioles, while the Royals will host either the Tigers or Twins in the ALDS.

San Francisco clinched the NL West with its win today. It's Hamlin's first playoff appearance in the National League, having won the AL West in 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2013, while taking a trip to the playoffs as a wild card in 2012 with Oakland.

No Game 163s this season. We've got Minnesota visiting Detroit for the AL Wild Card game, and Cincinnati at Miami for the NL. Winners will play Kansas City and Pittsburgh.

In the other LDS, we'll have Texas visiting Baltimore and San Francisco headed east to take on Philadelphia.

From what I've gathered on the AL side, Detroit has beaten both Kansas City and me. I'm not sure how the other divisional series has shaken out.

Quick Recap:
Game 1 - Max Scherzer show. 89 pitch CG 1 run. Phils win 4-1
Game 2 - Jason Lane show. I can't remember but I think he pitched a no hitter or something. I blacked out during this game so I don't remember the score
Game 3 - Josh Donaldson 2 run homer gives me 6-5 lead in top 9th and eventual win
Game 4 - Giants offense beats up on Scherzer and win 7-2 (I think that was the score)
Game 5 - Giants shut out Phillies with Duffy pitching first two innings, Casilla/Rondon getting the next few, and Jason Lane getting another bunch of shut out innings. Buster Posey 2 run HR only runs scored

Series co-MVP's - Jason Lane and Jarrod Dyson. Almost positive Lane didn't allow a hit in two Giants W's and Jarrod Dyson had countless gap/warning track/charge plays in CF. Posey honorable mention for the 2 run homer in the clincher, but he was not great otherwise.

Series LVP - Andrew McCutchen for the 2nd year in a row. Besides a 2 run homer in the first game (Cutch/Donaldson/Freeman went back to back to back) he was invisible. A couple errors as well. I haven't decided if I am blowing up the team after two early exits in a row, but it's possible.

When I have a minute I'll write up a better play by play of the Jason Lane experience but it was something else. He did allow a couple of hits but he threw 10 shut out innings despite striking out no one and also doubled and then scored on a play where he took out the catcher in game 2. Cy DiFelice eat your heart out.

Whoa, whoa...roll back the tape. I think we have an illegal take-out slide pursuant to MLB Rule 7.13. SF loses. Philly wins. Jason Lane is beaten in the parking lot because that's what San Francisco fans do.

At least no one got shot in the head like that Pats fan in Dallas last week. Definitely spent some time making sure it wasn't JP

Ha. I'm alive and well. I'll be at the Jets-Pats game in two weeks, and the Giants-Pats game in New Jersey in November, though!

Also survived the annual Miami scare tonight, but the Bucs are moving onto the NLCS for the sixth straight year.
