We should probably get started on this. I know Nate has volunteered one of his friends, and a few others have as well.
Might be somebody here I work with that would be pretty good, too, but would have zero sim experience.
Either way, we need to start looking to replace Gabe.

I have no leads at all. I think someone with sim experience would be preferable to a newbie but we need the best candidate

I don't think having familiarity with a DMB is a must, provided the guy is really smart. I think we just need to aim for the smartest possible GM, if he has been in other leagues, great. If not, that's ok too.

Kicking the tires here. Nate knows a guy. I know a few people in real life that may be interested. We should start reaching out soon.

Update: my people wouldn't be that great, after talking more to them.
A lot of people have approached me about Bestwick. I searched the forums, and we've basically contemplated him for our last few openings, but ultimately chose Cloutier and Danny over him. We've also weighed Passner and Mueller, too.
I looked back and checked if and when Bestwick was in the league. It appears that he was in 2007, but was booted because of inactivity. It appears real life got in the way, with a divorce and child custody issue.
My own preference is that we get somebody who will be 100% invested in the IBC and not a bunch of leagues, but if people want to give Larry another chance, I can probably be swayed to vote that way. I just want somebody that is strong and basically won't give away Kershaw.

We need to make sure we get someone that won't be raped right off the bat

Maybe we could avoid the raping terminology?
At any rate, I'm for giving Larry another shot. It's been 8 years and it's not like he can get divorced again, right? This can act as a trial run.

I gave away Kershaw and will take hits for that for a long time ... I still am active and admit I made a bad trade. Larry will likely be better them I was/ am

I prefer fresh blood but that seems to be hard to get right now, so if Bestwick is best we have available, let's go wick it.

Squarely off the Bestwick train myself. He emailed me Monday morning, I replied early Tuesday with the rules, roster and asked what he'd want to do with the team and what direction he sees. He said he'd reply, but hasn't.
I'm with Shawn, I prefer fresh blood.

Fresh blood would be good
