The ExCo has come to the unanimous decision to remove Gabe as GM of the Cubs due to inactivity. Gabe hasn't sent in an MP since last May and with multiple DL violations to start the season we felt the time had come to remove him, though the decision was difficult. We told Gabe he is welcome back if there is ever an opening and he has the time for the league, then he'll jump to the front of the line. Hopefully in the future once his life is less hectic and he has more time, Gabe can return much like Pat G. has.

So if anyone has any potential candidates for the Cubs, please let an ExCo member know. We're not in any rush to fill the spot

Had to happen, but really sucks to lose Gabe. Hopefully he'll have time in the future.

Really sucks, <3 Gabe. An original. I even had just told him how to get the sim installed on a Mac the other day. Strange he would ask that and then not even submit an MP.

I do have someone who would be interested... No prior sim experience, but I've let them take a peek into our little world here.. and although they expect to have a learning curve they are confident they could absorb and adapt. I'm also willing to mentor.

And I believe that's our first champion to leave notwithstanding Bren's whatever the hell that was. Dibs on Kershaw!

If he's truly out, which I agree sucks, I would like to be the Cubs.

Sorry Pat...Aaron already called Cubs. He loves the Cubs.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that it came to this. If and when he gets more time, we'd all gladly take him back. Hopefully that can happen at some point. He came into the league the same day I did, and we both minidrafted. I was the Expos then. Youppi!

Think we all knew this was coming and agree with the decision...but I'm another one who's hoping he finds his way back. Gabe is good people...and certainly a big part of the success of this league.

A true Cub fan can spit out the '84 Cub lineup, rotation and 1/2 the bullpen without looking at BB Reference, nicknames and all. If he can't do that he shouldn't have the franchise before me.

CF) The Deer - Bob Dernier
2B) Rhino - Ryne Sandberg
LF) Sarge - Gary Matthews
1B) Bull - Leon Durham
3B) Penguin - Ron Cey
LF) Hoss - Keith Moreland
C) Jody Davis
SS) Larry Bowa

Rick Sutcliffe
Steve Trout
Scott Sanderson
Dennis Eckersley
Dick Ruthven / Rick Reuschel

Smitty - Lee Smith
Warren Brustaar
George Frazier
Dickie Noles

I think Pat was being sarcastic.

Roger - me too. It's more of a test for the new GM. If he can go back as a Cub fan to the '69 and horrible late 70's teams - he's got me beat, otherwise the franchise should be mine.

It's not really a team, more of a cult. Their real name is not the Cardinals more along the lines of "Satanic Red Fowl".

Who would've thought? 100 to 1 shot! I wish I could go back to the beginning of the season, put some money on the Cubs.

Yeah, they look pretty good. If they can fix the bullpen - Ramirez and Grimm coming back will help and find another stud SP, it could get real interesting in October.

Putting money on the cubs is a fools bet. Period. Over 100 years to back that up.

I never saw Back to Future II. The prediction might have been a few years early, but it's coming.

Does this mean you saw I and III...or just I and then didn't care to finish out the trilogy? Because if you saw I and III, well that makes no sense because III was a continuation off of II.

The second, when they went into the future to save Marty's career...the third was going back to the Old West to save Doc from the Mad Dog gun fight.

I'm sad not everyone in this league has seen the back to the future trilogy. Still holds up IMO.
