2015 Players signed (or apparently) to play overseas
Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports that Mike Zagurski has signed with the Hiroshima Carp.
Zagurski was released by the Blue Jays in early September and has now found an attractive deal in Japan. The left-hander posted good numbers this season at the Triple-A level and should do pretty well in a relief role in Nippon Professional Baseball.

Twins sold LHP Kris Johnson to Hiroshima Carp of the Japanese League.
Johnson was sold for "mid six figures," according to Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. The left-hander made three starts for the Twins in 2014, going 0-1 with a 4.73 ERA in 13 1/3 innings.

MLB.com's Brian McTaggart reports that Jesus Guzman has signed with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of Japan's Central League.
Guzman elected free agency earlier this month after being removed from the Astros' 40-man roster. It's not clear how much the 30-year-old will be paid by Hiroshima, but he'll get the opportunity to play regularly in Japan, something he wasn't given in the states.

Sports Hochi reports that the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks plan to offer Daisuke Matsuzaka a four-year contract worth about $3.58 million per season.
He'd be crazy to turn that kind of money down, as Matsuzaka would have to take a minor league deal from a major league club. The right-hander has said previously that he'd be open to returning to Japan if they give him a chance to start. It would be shocking if Matsuzaka turns the offer down.

The end of an era. Or something like that. Matsuzaka showed some promise this past season with the Mets, posting a 3.89 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 83 1/3 innings (nine starts and 25 relief appearances), but the free agent right-hander is probably going to get a bigger financial commitment from a Nippon Professional Baseball team than he would have state-side. If this concludes his major league run, "Dice-K" will finish with a 4.45 ERA in 790 1/3 career frames.

Poreda posted a 5.91 ERA in 26 relief appearances for the Rangers this season. The former first-round pick has never come close to reaching expectations.

Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports that the Rangers will sell the rights to Miles Mikolas to the Yomiuri Giants of the Japanese Central League.
Mikolas has put up some nice numbers in the minors but holds a 5.32 ERA over 37 appearances at the big league level. He should get a nice salary bump in Japan.

Fox Sports 1's CJ Nitkowski reports that Andy Marte has signed a one-year, $1 million deal with the Korean Baseball Organization's KT Wiz.
The former top prospect made it up to the majors with the D'Backs briefly this season after a great year at Triple-A that saw him bat .329/.388/.531 with 19 homers. Now 31, Marte will almost surely never get another long look in the big leagues.

Esmerling Vasquez signed a contract with the Seibu Lions of Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan.
The 31-year-old right-hander hasn't played in the big leagues since the 2012 season and didn't pitch at all during the 2014 campaign. If he pitches well in 2015 it could open doors for a potential return to a major league bullpen the following season.

Phil Irwin has signed a one-year, $550,000 contract with the KT Wiz of the Korean Baseball Organization.
Irwin was released by the Rangers in August after spending most of the season at Triple-A, where he posted a 5.05 ERA. He wasn't able to find a deal to his liking in the states and will now take a shot overseas.

Yankees sold the contract of UTIL Zelous Wheeler to Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan.
Wheeler had a few cups of coffee in the majors last year for the Yankees, but the team has sold his contract to Japan as they jostle for roster space.

Rangers released OF Jim Adduci.
Adduci intends to play in Asia next season, very probably in Japan. The Rangers are in the process of selling his rights, which today's move makes possible. Adduci, 30 in May, slashed only .189/.259/.242 over 148 big league plate appearances.

Adduci was released by the Rangers earlier this week so that he could pursue this better-paying opportunity in Korea. The 29-year-old outfielder batted just .168/.239/.228 in 114 plate appearances this past season for Texas. He was a 42nd-round pick of the Marlins in 2003.

Lucas Harrell has agreed to a one-year, $900,000 contract with Korea's LG Twins.
The 29-year-old right-hander had a 9.49 ERA in three starts this past season with the Astros and likely would have had to settle for a non-guaranteed minor league contract had he remained in the United States. Harrell may try to return to MLB if things go well for him next season in the Korean Baseball Organization.

Nyjer Morgan has agreed to a contract with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Morgan was released by the Indians this past August and couldn't catch on with another major league team. The 34-year-old outfielder missed a large chunk of 2014 with a sprained PCL in his right knee, but he should be healthy for the start of the KBO season.

Wade LeBlanc has signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Seibu Lions of Japan's Pacific League.
He can earn an additional $500,000 through incentives. LeBlanc was non-tendered by the Angels earlier this month after posting a 3.45 ERA over 10 appearances in 2014 but has managed to land a nice little deal overseas.

Jeeho Yoo of the Yonhap News Agency hears Josh Lindblom is close to a deal with Lotte Giants of the Korean Baseball Organization.
Lindblom was designated for assignment by the Pirates Friday after being claimed off waivers from the Athletics a few days earlier. The right-hander threw 4 2/3 innings with the A's this past season, and he's appeared in major league games each of the past four years. Going overseas so quickly would be a bit of a surprise for the 27-year-old.

Jason Pridie has agreed to a contract with SK Wyverns of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Pridie appeared in just two games at the major league level in 2014, striking out twice in four at-bats. He was better off heading to Korea than having to settle for a non-guaranteed minor league contract.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that infielder Brandon Laird has signed with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Japan's Pacific League.
Laird, 27, batted .300/.350/.490 with 18 home runs and 85 RBI over 130 games with the Nationals' Triple-A affiliate this past season. However, he's no longer considered a prospect and his success hasn't translated to the major league level, so he has decided to accept an opportunity overseas.

According to Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN, free agent INF Jack Hannahan has agreed to a $1 million contract with South Korea's LG Twins.
Hannahan could possibly have found himself a minor league deal, as the (Minnesota) Twins were reportedly somewhat interested in him in mid-December, but he instead opted to sign in South Korea. Hannahan missed most of the 2014 season after undergoing shoulder surgery. He appeared in 26 games and hit .188/.220/.250.
