David Wright

Need a ruling:
Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com reports that the Mets will shut David Wright down for the rest of the season with inflammation in his left rotator cuff.
Rubin first reported the news, and the Mets made it official with a press release. While it's a bummer of an ending to Wright's season, the good news is that he's not expected to require surgery to repair a shoulder ailment that's been bothering him since mid-June. He'll rest the shoulder for a while before beginning a strengthening program.
