Need a ruling:

Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com reports that the Mets will shut David Wright down for the rest of the season with inflammation in his left rotator cuff.
Rubin first reported the news, and the Mets made it official with a press release. While it's a bummer of an ending to Wright's season, the good news is that he's not expected to require surgery to repair a shoulder ailment that's been bothering him since mid-June. He'll rest the shoulder for a while before beginning a strengthening program.

Similar to Pedroia's case, he seems like he'd still be playing and eligible if the Mets weren't...the Mets.

He'd be playing through it if they were in contention

My only concern here is that the shutdown was a direct result of an MRI http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2014/09/09/ ... ator-cuff/ which could indicate it was something he couldn't play with anymore. That being said I think we've leaned towards allowing players to play in the past when it was questionable and think we should continue that here since he's been fighting it for a while now.
