Tigers purchased the contract of RHP Corey Knebel from Triple-A Toledo.
Knebel has made a rapid rise through the Tigers' system, as he was a sandwich round pick in last year's draft. The hard-thrower earned the promotion after putting up a 0.90 ERA and 68/19 K/BB ratio over his first 50 innings in pro ball. He'll work in low leverage situations initially but could eventually be used in the later innings.

When I grabbed Knebel in the 2nd round I had hopes of a September callup, but he beat even my expectations. I know I have plenty of holes to where I don't need a reliever at the moment, but feels good to be right and get some of my draft mojo back after the last couple of duds
