Hey guys, will you vote on whether we consider the game a week before the rest of the league begins versus the normal opening day as the deadline for 13 draftees? I just need to know when it makes sense to cut Castillo, but we really should have a precedent.

I think we've considered the first game of the season to be opening day in the past; as silly as the whole Australia thing is, I think it'll still count even though there will be that odd dead week in between it and the opening for the rest of the teams.

I'm inclined to think the actual opening day. After these two games, LA and SD resume spring training. Rosters also aren't finalized until after this week either, which is the main thing for me. I'm fine with it either way, but think that the end of spring training is really opening day/night/series/whatever MLB does to call it.

I am in agreement with Andrew ... I think it is easier to be consistent with our past precedent and in the future to stick with the first "real" game ...

Looks like first post-Australian game (3/30) has it 3-2 ...
