2014 Draft

I've been kicking around who to pick for a while now, and while the draft doesn't begin for a month and a half, I'm going to commit to Kris Bryant (who i'm gambling ends up in RF). Gray has amazing talent, but the day I draft a Colorado pitcher is the day Aaron starts voting for the Green Party. Appel is talented as well, but I think he lacks the premium 'edge' in talent that Gray has (too bad Houston didn't take Gray instead). Tanaka has been my biggest holdup, but the more I see of his flat fastball, the less I can justify it.

So, unless Bryant suffers a major injury, or the Cubs do something to lock him into 3b permanently on the FA market this winter, it's going to be Bryant. I figure this will help folks pin down how the rest of the top of the draft will look.

While it's not impossible that the pick gets dealt, I think the folks I've discussed it with would say yes, it is impossible that the pick gets dealt.

There is an above average chance that Jonathan Gray goes #2, if Bren sticks with Bryant, as expected.

Pretty sure the question mark has always been what happens with the number #3 pick and how that affects the dominoes the rest of the way down.

Another twist will be the situation with Tanaka and when/if he gets posted.

Yeah, the delays in establishing the posting system this year may result in him not signing until after 12/31, making him ineligible for the Draft.

I'll probably just draft myself with the #3 pick. You guys don't realize how awesome this heavy drinking, blown shoulder, 26 year old is going to be once somebody discovers me this off season.

Technically they didn't, they got so drunk with him that they forgot all about it.

And just to shake things up a little bit more... Raicel Iglesias flees Cuba and will be signing with an MLB team. Not a factor for me, but it will be interesting to see where he goes.

Come on Bren.......it has been awhile now. We could all use another:

Maels "Fucking" Rodriguez

.....moment. Don't go the conservative, safe route.....shoot for the moon! :)

As a matter of fact, I'd like to formally petition the ExCo to require Bren to draft Miguel Alfredo "Soon to be Fucking" Gonzalez, Maels Rodriguez Jr. Anyone second?

Quick Question, I looked through the rules and I don't recall seeing an answer. Is this a live draft that wraps up in one night or will this take place over the course of days/weeks?

Also, where can I go to find the draft order?

I traded all my draft picks in the BCMBL this year. Just got married and anticipating a busy winter so I've been ignoring the 2013 draft class. It looks like I will have to start cramming.

It takes us weeks since everyone has 24 hours to make their pick. Especially since some of us like to take the full 24 hours. Shawn puts up a draft page that makes it easy to choose players and record picks. Draft order is listed under the announcements.
