Going to throw a few specific people on the market as I continue to shape my team. I'm looking for prospects and draft picks. Just let me know if there's interest, and we can go from there...
Alen Hanson - Have had a few people reach out to me on him in the past week. I was really excited that he was becoming a 2b with Russell on the roster, but with reports that he's starting to look the part of a ss, he should have more value to someone else.
Alex Claudio - Monster numbers, and got some pretty solid prospect love in scouting reports...and he's a lefty.
Kevin Kiermaier - A dynamic under-the-radar player who, on the basis of outstanding defense and strong all around offensive potential, put up a 7.0 WARP across AA/AAA. At worst he's a 4th of who gets on base, at best he's a top of the order hitter and premium defender.
Robbie Grossman - Former top prospect (just missed Keith Law, top 100 BA) who had a strong first crack at the MLB with the Astros last year. While he's probably a 4th of/2nd division starter, he will play decent enough defense while offering good on-base ability.
Francisco Cervelli - Usually a plus defender, Francisco Cervelli was having a breakout offensive year because of drugs before the drugs caught up to him. At best, he returns and hits sans drugs and is a starter, at worst he's an above average backup.
Jaff Decker - He's still young (23 - amazingly), has a mature approach at the plate and a plus hit tool. There is a terrific chance he become a 2nd division starter or platoon hitter, or there is a terrific chance he fades into obscurity...but what a ride you'll both have!
Tyler Thornburg - Thornburg's advanced metrics in AAA showed a very unlucky pitcher, who then turned around and was lucky in MLB (although a 3.08 FIP & 3.21 FRA are very good). He still profiles as a #3/4 starter on stuff (was better as a starter in MLB), but floor seems to be an 8th inning RP or closer.
Chris Rusin - After struggling at the higher levels for 2 years, Rusin actually had a breakout year at AAA last year, and then carried over his success to the Cubs. He's never going to pitch at the top of a (even decent) rotation, but he has proved he will eat innings at an above average level.
