We probably need to start hunting for a Brewers gm now that the trade deadline has passed. Does anybody have any recommendations? As we've seen with Ben, guys in approximately 531 leagues may flame out.
Not that I'm opposed to bringing in somebody from another league, but we need a really strong GM over a hyper-active one, as always, especially since this team has Strasburg, Cueto, Carpenter and others on it.

Anyone have anybody? I could potentially have a guy, but I'm saving him as sort of a last resort in hopes we get a guy with DMB experience

Zalaski was telling me a guy who he works with that might be interested, but said he'd take awhile to get used to everything.

Pat and Nick have recommended Dan Passner, but, I believe we've kicked his candidacy around before and ultimately had a list of guys better than him at the time. Anybody else have any luck?

If we're talking BCMBL people again, I'd recommend Jared Cloutier. We've passed him over for the last couple of openings, but he's a solid, active, knowledgable sim GM.

I would take Jared over Dan in a heart beat.

I haven't been around them as much as you guys, but me too. My only question with Jared is if he thinks he'd stay interested and engaged in the league. That was the problem with Ben, not that he was necessarily a bad GM.

I am pretty sure he is good (at least virtual) friends with Patrick - Red Sox and John - Mets. Either of them could be asked as I think they both would provide an honest assessment.

A reminder of Cloutier's resignation in 2007:
"You guys can add the Rangers to the list of teams that need a GM as well. I took over a pretty good but old and incredibly shallow team in the BCMBL and turned it into one of the top 3-5 teams in the league with a deep farm system and got AL GM of the year. I wanted a new challenged and looked forward to taking over a shitty team and rebuilding it in a different park and a different league. The TC mandate basically doesn't allow me to do that. I don't want to turn this into a pissing contest but it takes all the fun out of this league for me. If the rule eventually gets done away with, give me a holler and I'll be happy to take another run at it. At this time though, I'm too busy and it's not worth the frustration. At the very least, the Rangers are in a lot better shape then when I got here. Thanks for the opportunity and good luck to you all."
I think 6 years later he's probably worth having again if he's willing to commit. If not, we'll find someone else in 6 months (not like we haven't had to do it before).

Alright, I'm on board with Jared. I spoke via IM to Brett last night, he's on board too. Jason and Aaron are -- and it appears Shawn is. Jim, hopefully you're good with Jared too. I'll get him set up tonight, unless anybody has any issues.
