Brooks Conrad has reached a contract agreement with the Hanshin Tigers of Nippon Professional Baseball. The deal will be made official in December.

Conrad hit just .133/.181/.306 with four homers and 15 RBI in 105 plate appearances this past year between the Brewers and Rays. He should have a better time in Japan.

If it wasn't for Brooks Conrad who knows if the Giants would have won their first World Series? I'll always have fond memories of that guy dropping the ball twice and then letting the ball roll between his legs.

Fred Lewis has signed a deal with the Hiroshima Carp of the Japanese Central League.

Lewis will earn a $400,000 base and will also receive a $150,000 signing bonus. Hiroshima also has an option on him for a second season. Lewis spent just 18 games at the big league level in 2012, picking up only three hits in 20 at-bats with the Mets.

Socolovich became a free agent after he was outrighted off the Cubs' 40-man roster in late October. The 26-year-old right-hander made his major league debut this season and allowed 11 earned runs in 16 1/3 innings between the Cubs and Orioles.

Ryota Igarashi has signed a three-year deal with the Soft Bank Hawks of Japan's Central League.

Things didn't go so well for Igarashi in the states, so he'll return to his native country. The 33-year-old posted a 6.41 ERA over 83 career major league appearances.

Tsuyoshi Nishioka has officially signed with the Hanshin Tigers of Japan's Central League.

Nishioka forfeited the final $3.25 million left on his contract with the Twins in order to head back home. The 28-year-old hit a pathetic .215/.267/.236 during his time in the states.

Hector Luna has agreed to a one-year, $450,000 contract with the Chunichi Dragons of Japan's Central League.

Luna could make an additional $200,000 with incentives. The 32-year-old infielder batted .226 (14-for-62) with two homers in 28 games with the Phillies this season.

Bryan LaHair has agreed to a contract with the Softbank Hawks of the Japanese Pacific League.

The deal will pay him a total of $4.5 million over the next two seasons. It's a nice score for LaHair, who was designated for assignment by the Cubs earlier this week and would have made close to the league minimum had he remained in the major leagues. The 30-year-old first baseman posted a .259/.334/.450 slash line in 2012.

Chris Seddon has agreed to a contract with the SK Wyverns of the Korean Baseball Organization.

Seddon was non-tendered by the Indians near the end of November after posting an underwhelming 1.40 WHIP and 18/13 K/BB ratio across 34 1/3 relief innings in 2012.

Ryan Spilborghs has agreed in principle to a contract with the Seibu Lions of Japan's Pacific League. That's the word from Troy Renck of the Denver Post.

Spilborghs spent the entire 2012 season in the minor leagues, batting .288/.358/.415 with nine homers and 69 RBI in 124 games. He should have success in Japan.

According to Nikkan Sports, Andruw Jones has signed with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan's Pacific League.

The deal is reportedly worth around $3.6 million in U.S. dollars. It's a surprising decision, as Jones will automatically become one of the biggest names ever to make the jump over to Japan, but he apparently preferred the guaranteed money over a potential spring training invite with an MLB team. The 35-year-old batted just 197/.294/.408 with 14 homers and 34 RBI in 233 at-bats for the Yankees last season. The 10-time Gold Glove award winner has a 254/.337/.486 career batting line to go along with with 434 homers and 1,289 RBI.

Manny Acosta has signed a one-year, $1.65 million contract with the Yomiuri Giants of Japan's Central League.

Acosta was non-tendered by the Mets last month and evidently didn't find any offers from major league clubs that were enticing. He posted a 6.46 ERA and 46/25 K/BB ratio over 47 1/3 innings this past season.

Dana Eveland has signed a one-year contract with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization.

Eveland, who elected free agency from the Orioles this offseason, will make $675,000 guaranteed with an additional $225,000 available through incentives. It's a nice contract for the 29-year-old, who was likely headed for a minor league deal.

Scott Richmond has signed a one-year, $600,000 contract with the Lotte Giants of the Korean Baseball Organization.

Richmond made 24 starts for the Blue Jays back in 2009, but he's mostly been in the minors since then. He's struggled the last two years at Triple-A, posting a 7.33 ERA in 2011 and 5.61 ERA this past season.

Aneury Rodriguez has agreed to a contract with the Samsung Lions of the Korean Baseball Organization.

Rodriguez had an ugly 6.60 ERA and 1.88 WHIP in 92 2/3 innings this past season at Triple-A Oklahoma City -- an affiliate of the Astros. The 25-year-old would have had to settle for a minor league deal state-side.

Tigers released LHP Adam Wilk.

Wilk made three appearances as a spot starter with the Tigers in 2012, and posted a 2.77 ERA and 128/28 K/BB ratio in 24 starts at the Triple-A level. According to CBS Sports' Danny Knobler, his contract has been sold to a team in the Korean Baseball League.

Casey McGehee has agreed to a one-year, $1.3 million deal with the Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan's Pacific League.

It's a little surprising McGehee wasn't able to find a job in the states, but it appears he likely would have had to settle for a minor league deal. It's been quite a fall for the 30-year-old, as he's just two seasons removed from a 23-homer, 104-RBI campaign. He batted only .217/.284/.358 with nine homers and a .643 OPS in 114 games this past season between the Pirates and Yankees.

Takashi Saito has signed a one-year contract with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles.

Saito will join fellow major leaguers Andruw Jones and Casey McGehee on the Golden Eagles, and he'll get to return to his hometown in Sendai, Japan. The soon-to-be 43-year-old was limited to 46 appearances over the last two seasons due to injury, but he'll take a career 2.34 MLB ERA and 10.7 K/9 rate back to his native country.

Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com reports that right-hander Vicente Padilla has agreed to a one-year, $3.25 million contract with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of Japan's Pacific League.

It's easy to see why he jumped at the opportunity, as it's unlikely that he received a comparable offer stateside. Padilla, 35, posted a 4.50 ERA and 51/15 K/BB ratio over 50 innings last season as a reliever with the Red Sox. There's a decent chance he could resurface in the majors after 2013.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Angels are giving left-hander Jo-Jo Reyes his release so that he can sign with the SK Wyverns of the Korean Baseball Organization.

The Angels signed Reyes to a minor league contract in November. The 28-year-old left-hander posted a 2.67 ERA and 43/13 K/BB ratio over 54 innings with the Pirates' Triple-A affiliate last season. He owns a 6.05 ERA over five seasons in the big leagues.

Nyjer Morgan has signed a one-year, $1.6 million contract with Japan's Yokohama DeNA BayStars.

Morgan failed to attract much interest from major league teams this offseason after batting just .239/.302/.308 in 122 games last summer for Milwaukee. He probably would have had to accept a minor league contract (and invitation to spring training) to remain in the states.
