I'm glad something we're doing in September matters.

Cubs certainly did play spoiler, and really bailed out both LA and ATL.
Updated through Thursday's results. NL East, wild card really, really, tight. Hamlin also only three back of the second wild card in the AL.

With Wednesday's win, Jag and his D'Backs have clinched their third NL West title (2008, 2010, 2012) and third straight playoff appearance, winning the wild card last year.

With Saturday's win, JB clinched the AL East for a fifth consecutive season, and his eighth division crown. It's also JB's 10th consecutive playoff appearance.
You're all shocked, I know.

Pat's Tigers clinched on Sunday, his third division title (2004 NL Central, 2005 AL Central), and is now one-for-one since rejoining the league.
Brett's Rangers and Pat's Red Sox appear to be next in line.

Brett's Rangers clinched the AL West on Monday, and it'll be Brett's third trip to the playoffs, winning the AL Central, and IBC title, in 2009 and 2010. It's just the second time in league history that a team from Texas has made the playoffs. Seth was the first, making them in 2009.

And with that, the only division race up for grabs is the NL East. The wild cards remain up for grabs.

Pat's Red Sox clinched one of the two WC spots, and have a magic number of 2 to clinch the first wild card spot, and subsequently, home field advantage for the WC game.
The American League seedings are also set in stone. The Yankees will take on the wild card winner in the ALDS, while the Rangers will take on the Tigers. Brett's team will probably be booed in Detroit, since he took his World Series winning franchise and bolted to Arlington in 2011.
Meanwhile, the NL is still very much up in the air. We know that the Pirates will play the WC winner, and that the D'Backs will play the NL East winner. Still, the Marlins are up three in the NL East, and at worst, will play a play-in game to get to the WC round.
Washington, similarly, has a three-game lead over LA and Houston for the first wild card.
Los Angeles and Houston are tied for WC2, and both have relatively easy schedules going forward. If the season ended today, LA would head to Houston to play a play-in game before going to Washington....before going to Pittsburgh.

For the fourth time in five years, Dan's Marlins are headed to the playoffs with an NL East title. Miami will take on Arizona in the NLDS.

The Red Sox will be hosting the AL WC game. The A's trail the Blue Jays by one game with three to play.

Things could get messy. Toronto still leads Oakland by one game for WC2, while Los Angeles and Washington are tied for both WCs, with Houston just one game back with two to play.

And it all comes down to tonight's games. Toronto up one on Oakland, while Washington and Los Angeles are tied for the two wild cards, while Houston still hangs in there one game out.

they sure don't.
we've got Oakland @ Toronto, Washington @ Houston for Game 163s...just to get into Friday's game at Boston and Los Angeles.
It's kind of cool that 162 games have been played and 12 IBC teams are still alive. Good luck to everybody.
