Business of Baseball redux

On the former IBC boards I wrote under a thread dealing with the "business of baseball" that the Signature Pharmacy situation was going to be a big deal ... and it will continue to be. In today's Strike Zone, Rotoworld Editor Matthew Pouliot explains it well:

Could Troy Glaus have picked a better day to have his hand caught in the cookie jar? It was barely a footnote that the Toronto third baseman reportedly received steroids, all because the Rick Ankiel news broke earlier in the day. If Glaus used the nandrolone and testosterone that SI.com reported he received back in 2003 and 2004, it is, in my opinion, a far more significant offense than Ankiel obtaining a shady prescription for and likely using hGH. Of course, the difference is that Ankiel's comeback caused people to care about him and no one outside of his immediate family seems all that interested in the 2002 World Series MVP. To think that Barry Bonds might have missed out on his championship ring because someone on the other team was juicing. Not that there's any real chance that they were the only ones. It looks like we're going to have several more and possibly dozens of steroid revelations by the time the winter is over. However, for every player whose name is leaked, there has to be at least 10 more who have a history of cheating and maybe still are.

Love the ironic possibility related to Bonds ...
