Prince Albert goes from St. Louis to Anaheim

Post by Athletics »

Albert Pujols, the heart and hammer of the St. Louis Cardinals for more than a decade, will leave St. Louis and sign with the Los Angeles Angels, a person with knowledge of the deal told Yahoo! Sports. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=A ... rms_120811

Not that I am saying this is a bad thing...but giving a guy 25 mil when he is 40 is crazy unless they are planning to put him on the Barry Bonds plan.

And I think they failed to mention that Vernon Wells will randomly be sent to South America or the Caribbean in hopes he will meet his demise and return the 60 million dollars still left on his bloated contracted.

And to follow up that initial shock...they go land Wilson too.

Arte Moreno must now be pondering how to turn Hunter and Trumbo/Morales into 30 million of gold bullion.

I'm guessing Morales gets non-tendered soon. Would be a solid pick up for the Brewers.

Thanks for the memories Albert. 3 pennants, 2 WS championships... nobody can take that away. I'm just happy the Cardinals aren't paying that outrageous contract.
