He played for me last night. I hadn't sent in my new MP yet because I sent an email to the roster dude asking the game not be simmed so I could play it head to head against Jake. But a violation is a violation so I figured I'd go ahead and turn myself in

IMO that's bullshit.

Does it really fuckin matter? Freel is out the year anyway.. a 1 month penalty imposed wouldn't do any damage...
so its for that reason, I respectfully ask the league to impose Freel's 1 month penalty on the Cardinal's Roy Oswalt or John Lackey so I can bury Aaron in the standings and win the NL Central outright

1 month for next year is bullshit though, i concur. If he had played injured out right and aaron didnt take him out, sure. but a month of next year sucks (coming from somebody who will want to kick aarons ass next year.) also diminshes trade value some.

I think it does matter. Even if injuries penalties were not carried over year to year (I'm not sure they do though, someone clear me up here), it's the principle that Aaron requested his game not be simmed and it was. The way the other rules have previously been interpreted/enforced makes me question whether this would enforced as a rules violation, when it clearly should be simmer error and the penalty not imposed.
Frankly, simming has turned into a mess on quite a few occassions this year, between this, lineups and h2h games not being imported, delays, etc. I'm starting to wonder what makes it so hard. If you need any help Bren, just say the word.

Dont take what I said the wrong way. I meant to say even if the 1 month rule of no Freel was imposed, it would have no consequence because he's already DL'ed for the year.
I'm not aware of it carrying over.

Yea I'm saying the principle behind Freel getting penalized at all sucks. What if it wasn't a guy out for the year? Now we're in the sticky situation of having to make a decision on how to proceed.
My last post for a couple of days

I absolutely believe it is ludicrous to penalize a GM who had a DL'd player play when he specifically said "DON'T PLAY MY GAMES! cause I will be playing HtH" or he sent in an MP that wasn't used (same situation - but not this particular situation). If a GM can prove he took appropriate action before a DL'd player was included in a SIM game (and in this case Aaron doesn't need to prove it to me as I have no reason to doubt his word) that GM should not be subject to penalties.
Put simply, it ain't right to penalize a person who did no wrong!

No reason to not take aaron's word? Isn't the fact that he's still to this day tryin to rally the southern troups to rise up against the north sketchy enough? It is for me.. shady mfer..

I think we should enforce the rule, only the month should be added to Josh Johnson's suspension instead.

I don't have a problem waiving it in this situation, THIS TIME, but saying you are going to sim head to head and then NOT doing it should not be excusable.
Get a roster in. Holding off on simming for a head to head game is a courtesy, it's not something I have to do or even technically supposed to do, and probably not even something I SHOULD do. It slows down the sim process and sometimes one gets missed. You guys had two days to play, you should have gotten a roster in, you clearly had th time to do so.
Get a roster in. Period.

ExCo has ruled that Freel will not serve an extra month DL time and there is no penalty given to Aaron or an infraction against him for future violations.

FYI, if a player is out for the year and is subject to a DL penalty, the suspension carries over to the following year. I.E. Freel would have missed the first month of 2008.

Jake was on vacation in Vermont so I had no way of getting ahold of him on Monday or Tuesday to play him, that's why there was a delay Bren

Aaron,
You still should have sent a roster in. Holding off on simming is not something I'm obligated or supposed to do. You HAVE to get a roster in according to the rules. No excuses.
