Scott Strickland

Was released by the Padress AAA affiliate back on May 15. Hasn't been picked up by any other organtization.

ExCo should probably make a decision on whether or not he's still eligible for the SIM since the rule states a player can continue to play for two weeks after being released by an organization. Then if he doesn't get picked up by another team during that two week time frame, he becomes ineligible until another tream does pick him up.

Its been over two months now since he was released and it doesn't appear that any other team has signed him.

I read in a NY paper that he was going to sign with the Yankees.

That was a while back. I haven't seen any stats to support him playing, but if you look at the Rotoworld picture, it's got the Yanks background.

I was under the impression from Rotoworld that he was in the Yankees organization.

Other than Rotoworld putting a yankee symbol on Strickland's biopage without actually stating he signe with the Yankees, does anyone have a link to any Yankee major or minor league affiliate roster, transaction log, stat sheet or anything suggesting the Yankees actually did sign Strickland?

I think that would settle it if anyone does have a link reflecting that otherwise it doesn't look like the Yankees ever signed him.

If anything, it looks like the Yankees might have been one of the teams interested in Strickland back in March when the Padres relaesed Strickland from their 40 man roster. Then it looks like he ended up staying in the Padres org and accepting the AAA asignment.

After getting released from Portland in May.....nothing.

There's not decision to be made.
He hasn't been playing since May 13th at any level, he should not be playing in the IBC.

Clearly he's gone. Not sure why you'd try to get rid of Strickland, he's actually been the weak link of my bullpen. If anything you should mandate that I make him my closer again, seeing has he blew 5 of his 7 opportunities in that role early in the season that staked your division lead.

ETA: What's this doing in the injury thread? He's certainly not on any DL.

Injury thread is arguably the most appropriate for this topic.

Hmmm. Admin Crap? Polls? The main forum? I'd choose all three of those ahead of this one.

GM's don't go looking in the polls, Admin or main forum to find who's eligible and not eligible to play. GM's look in the DL thread to see if a player is injured and ineligible, which makes logical sense to include players in this thread that are ineligible due to other reasons, such as retirement, been released, etc......

This thread should probably more accurately be described as the DL/Ineligible Player thread, so GM's have one easy place to go look and see if someone has already been determined to be injured or ineligible.

Not sure why you'd try to get rid of Strickland,

....because it has nothing to do with how good or bad a player has been doing in the SIM, it is about making a minimal effort to check and see if players on your active roster remain eligible throughout the season.

The AL West is arguably the biggest crybaby division.

Seconded!
Dave is in that division too isn't he?

For two straight years the vagaries of the SIM have put a team with no business in first place comfortably ahead in the division. I'm not surprised.

whine whine whine... just be glad that none of the three best teams in the AL are in your division... they're all in mine.
