At the quatter pole of the season...

Here we are at the quarter pole of the season, about to start interleague play... Let's take a look at how the divisions themselves are doing.
NLW 22 games over .500
NLC -12 games under .500
NLE -10 games under .500
ALW -26 games under .500 (you guys really suck, just as a whole division)
ALC 13 games over .500
ALE 13 games over .500

Since we're still only 1/4 of the way through the season a lot of teams have yet to face off. Still, it's a surprise to see the NLC faring so poorly outside of their own division and even more amazing to see just how much the ALW sucks.

The ALW recently lost a GM. Dave wasn't the brightest bulb, but he cared and was far more active than about half the GM's in the league. It might have made more sense to boot him if we weren't having trouble filling Texas. Maybe the ExCo will undo the awful deals that led to his demis so the team won't be a total dog for whomever gets it next...

Ha!

Brennan is leading the division, which is a little amazing when you look at his roster. Less so when you look at the rest of the division.

The other west coast division (bias alert) has managed to pull off the rather impressive feat of getting to this point with all five teams over .500, cleaning up outside their own division to a combined record of of 69-47. While there are no juggernauts in the division, all five GM's are fairly shrewd characters and there are no really bad teams either and squaring off against the ALW in interleague play is going to give us an edge come wildcard time. There probably isn't a team in the NLW that couldn't take the ALW with relative ease.

The ALE is again showing itself to be the class of the IBC. Pat T is doing the old Sox GM proud and giving JB a real run for his money.

JP is having some trouble in the NLC after tooting his own horn all winter. Currently he's just a game over .500, the same record as the Dodgers who sit in last place in the NLW. To say his offense has been awful would be kind.... It suggests he has an offense at all.

Brett and Brett are leading their respective divisions, but I don't really have much to say about them. Hey, I never promised this would be comprehensive...

My own season has been a bit of a surprise thus far. I'm still waiting for half of my rotation to get healthy (or show up at all) But I've been able to ride a strong offense and frighteningly deep bullpen to the best record in the NLW. Hopefully it holds out long enough for Bedard to get back and bounce some of the chaff out of the rotation. Of course, if Dan Szymborski wasn't a total fucking retard Duensing would have a usable projection...

You know what's going to be really sweet? When your shitty team falls apart after moving from the AL East to the NL West, away from your favorite team. All you keep saying is how your team is so surprising and great since you're waiting for Webb and Bedard to come back, as if it's some surprise that they're hurt for this long.

The best part might be your constant crying over Duensing, as if that is ZiPS' #1 miscue. The reason your team is going to fall apart, probably sooner rather than later, is because it sucks and not because of Duensing's projection.

I never said my team was great, just surprising. I'd have been happy to be at .500 right now, leading the division is very unexpected so yeah, I'm gonna crow about it.
I also didn't say that Duensing was ZiPS' biggest injustice, it's just the one that fucks me over the most.

Sounds like someone has a little sand in his vagina about still sitting at .500 and being 2-5 against Shawn.

A Seattle sweep later with a blown game by the Padres bullpen and suddenly San Diego is in third place behind Jagger and Levine.

It's a tight division., no question. I'm embarrassed to have been swept by a team out of the PCL though...

Karma is a bitch.

Now take your AAA rotation and slink back down to Little Mexico quietly.

Time to restart and reboot this one.

225-217 NLW +8
287-246 NLC +41
200-243 NLE -43

229-212 ALE +17
225-216 ALC +9
162-194 ALW -32

Shocking, the NL Central is once again the best division, 41 games over .500. The NL West's leader would be behind the second place team in the NL Central. Not terribly shocking. Two of the top four records in the whole league come from the NL Central as well.

Both Wild Card races should be interesting though. Not too shocking to me that Bishop has overtaken the lead, but I do expect both Andrew and Jim to have a pretty legitimate shot at taking him out. The three team race in the NL East and the wild card chase should be interesting there as well, especially since Ken is banged up right now but his team is pretty deep. For all that talk about how deep the NL West was, I'm curious to see if anybody will stop Jagger from running away with the division in a month or so.

Oh yeah, about your remark about my offense...I have the fifth highest team OBP in the IBC and second highest in the NL. That'll work. Thanks for the concern though.
