I presume Z will want to do some kind of official appeal, since he has already complained to several individual ExCo members about the Tejada penalty. As he said in an email to me:
"All right - I've got a monster problem with this.

Fact #1: My work computer can not download DMB
Fact #2: I need to send my rosters, when I'm on the road, to the roster guy.
Fact #3: If Tejada somehow plays because of this, what on earth can I do about it?

As soon as I knew about Tejada, the next lineup I sent did not have him in it."

I replied and copied everyone on the ExCo, but here it is anyhow:
"Any appeal to the penalty would have to be addressed by the whole ExCo.
That said, you sent a roster on 6/20 that included Tejada and a roster on 7/4 that did not.
You could have, at any time, emailed me and asked me to remove tejada from your lineup.
You and I spoke on 6/28 and 7/1 about Tejada (trying to trade him to me) and you didn't say anything about removing him from your lineup.
Your team played Tejada for almost a whole week because you didn't email or IM me about it so you get penalized for it like everyone else. I don't personally see what's unfair about it."

Should the Tejada penalty (2 months added suspension per the DL rules) be reduced?

5 votes out of 6 would be needed to change the penalty.

How many violations is the penalty for? Tejada played one week or two after hitting the DL? Did Gabe get any lineups from Z before the 4th?

It's one violation (his second).
Brett has been (wisely IMO) copying Roster Dude on any rosters he sends to Gabe. That's not a slight on Gabe, i jsut think such precautions when using a new system are wise.

I'm still a bit Foggy on this issue. I do think that 2 months without Tejada is excessive...and cripples ANY trade value he'd have on him.

It's the same penalty everyone else gets. My trade value on Schilling is crippled by losing him for an added month, but I screwed up so I pay the penalty.
Z seems less inclined to objecting now though, he seemed to think Tejada hadn't gone on the official DL until after the deadline for that week.
