IBC Rivalries?

So with Bren leaving the AL East, how many rivalries do we have here in the IBC? I know Aaron and I have one and I enjoy reminding him that his team is going to get smokehoused this year, but not sure how many more exist after that. I guess what I'm wondering is if there's anybody in particular you guys all like beating.

I still don't see your championship banner at the top of the page

I am hoping that my team will take 13 of 19 from one of my division mates so I can have a rival. I really enjoy the NL Central, because of the amount of Netplay involved.

That's funny, I don't see talent on your team page

Aaron's team will be ripe for that.

I'll be looking for some payback on Dave next year, though it would be more fun if his team ever stopped sucking (and I ever had a team better than mediocre).

If I never won another IBC game, just beating your scrub team to kick you out of the playoffs was worth my time.
Oh by the way, enjoy the basement this year.

Before Z left, I think we had a pretty good rivalry in the AL Central

You just worry about avoiding 100 losses. Doing that two years in a row would count as progress.

Jason and I have had a good rivalry in the IYFBL in the NL West. My Giants and his Padres. Great trash talk. He's always got the better of me though, damnit. Killer SP staff.
Glad to see him now in the AL Central. Unfortunately, it looks like we'll be battling for staying out of the cellar.....

I always enjoyed beating up on Bren, then he got scared and had to run away from the AL Beast...

Yeah, I have to agree. Not only that, but I have been dying to move to Seattle, San Diego, or San Francisco. I knew I never had a chance in Sea or SF, but now with king-shit moving to S.D., I'm toast for there too. Now I just need to beat the shit out of him every year!

I'd agree - sucks I've only been competitive for 2 years - I'd include Brett P here, as well.
Now I'm in the NL Meek, so I'll probably just have to start beating myself.

It's not a battle if it's one-sided, Kelly. As I see it, I won't have to be working nearly as hard as you.

I will also say that I like beating up on Gabe. And I'd love to beat Nils in the playoffs too for some revenge. Shouldn't be too hard to do either this year but hey.

Don't be a bitch Jason. But I know that's tough for you.....

Aaron, Nils, myself.... Wow, is being an IBC Champion a requirement to become one of your rivals or is it just one of the perks?

The only requirement is having a vastly overrated team. Nils, check, Aaron check, Gabe check plus.

In St. Louis we keep our mouths shut and do our talking on the field. So, keep crowing rooster, cause the chickens are coming home to roost

And how many games did you finish behind me again last year? Curious. I know Gabe finished 45 behind. Nothing quite like being eliminated essentially in July.

Yep. Congrats to you for managing to hang around for a few more months...before blowing it.... again....
As far as I can tell the only number that counts is how many banners you've got at the top of the page, and in that department you're the one behind.

Who's the only one overrating my team? I believe that was you in your team rankings. JP, that's not like you making stuff up to try to drum up a rivalry. Makes you sound scared.

I never said you yourself overrated it. Had a couple conversations with a few GMs who thought your team is currently the bees knees which is simply not true, at least in it's current state. Also, I'm not sure it's trying to drum up. In 2003 I beat you in the NLCS, 2004 you got me in the NLCS and in 2009 you beat me in the NLDS, so it seems our teams meet every time I make the playoffs. That's enough for me.
And as for the only thing counting being the number of banners, that's kind of funny. Hanging onto something from 2006 to help reason with being 40-50 GB out year in and out being okay.

No real rivalries here as so far everything has been pretty one sided. That being said I think I'll set my sights on Martin this year and third in the ALE.

When I was in the NL West, Shawn and I had some epic netplay games, and I lost the division to him on a walk off the last weekend of the season one year. That was the closest thing for me in IBC so far.
