Seth/Assistant GM

Seth told me he wants to bring in an assistant GM now that ESPN has given him a tougher job and he won't have as much time to devote to the league. He says if his time completely runs out at some point he'd just like to hand off the team to his assistant. I've brought this up with Brett and I think we share the same conclusion.
I'm ok with him bringing on an assistant, and if he does lose all the free time he has then he can "hand off" the team to his AGM, assuming that ExCo likes what they see out of the assistant. If he shits the bed, then no, but he'd still be like a new GM applying for the team rather than a direct handoff.
Thoughts?

One question...is he finding the AGM?

Yeah, he has a guy in mind.

Well, I'll talk to both Seth and his friend/new AGM Evan and let them know how everything is and would be in case of a team hand off - i.e., being looked at just like a new GM and a hand-off would not be guaranteed. They'd share login info. I know Seth is already getting strapped for time at his new job, and this is probably a good time to show Evan how things are.
I've actually been in a couple of the same fantasy leagues as Evan, since I'm friends with Levine (who is friends with Seth and this guy Evan) and he's actually pretty good when it comes to fantasy and stays on top of things. Hopefully he can help Seth, and if need be, be a good GM when and if the time comes for that.

So I slacked on this but finally talked to Evan tonight about it. I'll make a post to the league about this tomorrow, hopefully it works out well otherwise we can just cut it off. It should work fine since they are friends so I don't expect them to have major disagreements or anything.

Since he does have a few valuable pitchers, and since we're basically to blame for DT's recent moves, let's be sure to set up a specific check on him making a bad deal. Is the measure going to be checking with you before he does a deal, and for how long?

In the past we've used what, 6 months? to vote to keep new guys or so? I think that's a fair amount of time to fully grasp the league since he'll get a dosage of the offseason and half the regular season. I did tell him that Seth ultimately has the final say in all roster management, especially with trades and I have told them to consult me on trades and how to go about building the team. Hopefully they both take my advice, but I think they should.
