Draft Pick Trading

I'm not sure where I am on the subject of draft pick trading overall but, at this point in time, I know I am not inclined to:
1. Allow trades for picks more then 1 year in the future.
2. Allow trades of picks during the draft itself.

I think I'm on board for both those points, in fact I think I would only allow trading picks between the end of the season and the start of the draft. Though if you are concerned about trading during the pick holding up the draft...at this point, I'm thinking the draft picks will be put on your roster as if they were players at the end of the season and then you can trade them as if they were normal players, but I could make it so you couldn't trade the current pick, therefore making it impossible to hold up the draft. Trading picks for later in the draft during the first round doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me.

I am universally opposed to pick trading, however, if trading were permitted it would seem wise to not allow a member who has not been through a draft in the league before to trade picks.

Pick trading should be allowed from End of Season until the start of the draft.
That's my take.
Restrictions on newbies getting fleeced of their first rounder might be a good idea, though I think if they meet their 6 month approval or whatever they can handle the freedom to trade other picks.

Actually, i would not be opposed to permitting the trading of picks other than 1st rounders. I think that would be a reasonable compromise.

Cool. I can go for that. It makes sense because the newbies might not see the value of the pick appropriatly and sitting through a draft might give them that lesson.
It's something I'd be on board with.

Bren you're talking no trading of any 1st rounder, not just newbies right?

I was under the presumption it was just for newbies?

Shawn is correct. They're different proposals, though they could be overlapped. No trading of first rounder and no trading for draft first timers.
I would also suggest that as restrictions are loosened, penalties for violating the remaining restrictions be stiffened.
