A's Injury Report

After Ryan Doumit went down for what was supposed to be a few games with a sprained wrist it turned out he was going down for 8-10 weeks with wrist surgery. Then Gil Meche exited his start tonight in the 4th inning with back stiffness. Then, within 3 batters of each other Nomar Garciaparra and Mark Ellis go down with calf strains, and both will be DL'ed tomorrow. Last year it was Seattle's turn to get all funky with injuries, I suppose this year it's mine.

Don't feel bad I still have my starting 3b and catcher on the DL
And this week I lost Beimel, Ryan, and Bruney to the DL to cripple my pen.
However, IBC beware: within the next 2 weeks I should have Arod and Mauer back and then it will be no mercy on the league's pitching...

Just think though, it could have been worse if you had Brett Anderson and Bailey on your squad.....didn't both of them come out of the game with injuries last night too?
The A's trainers were working overtime last night. That was insane.

Actually, it looks like it was Casilla instead of Bailey who went out last night with the calf injury......

I had Casilla at one point. Anderson left with a little blister, he'll be fine. In his first at bat after Ellis and Garciaparra went down Jason Giambi legged out an infield single and the announcers the whole time just kept saying "don't get hurt, don't get hurt."
