Waiver "draft"
We are going to do this like we did last year. Everybody is currently on waivers. Please submit a list to Shawn of who you would like to claim and who you would like to drop by 5 PM EST on Sunday for all available free agents. We need to get moving on this so we can have a database ready to rock and roll for the following week since the season is sneaking up on us. This will be done just like last year, so no change in the process or policy. The current waiver order will be used, and obviously, as you claim you get pushed to 30th.

OK. Well I guess I had blocked that hoopla out of my mind. Given the uproar last year about the public waivers we'll be doing these claims privately this year.

It seems that there was the argument stemming from it last year, and for this year we will just submit lists to Shawn and go from there. The other waiver activity (aka normal waivers) after the signing freeze ends will be as always.

From our rules:
Waiver Priority Order is set and refreshed on the first of the following months (May, June, July, August, September, October) based on team winning percentage. Ties will be broken by record over the last 10 days, then pythagorean percentage.

I wouldn't say anything is obvious. Can't assume anything.Tigers wrote:We obviously are.Athletics wrote:Seconded, this is important.Mets wrote:oh...and are we going to have access to an official migrated disc so we can all claim on a level playing field?

I just say that because I don't think we've ever proceeded with the season process without everyone at least having some sort of document to go by. At least we haven't since 2005.Mets wrote:I wouldn't say anything is obvious. Can't assume anything.Tigers wrote:We obviously are.Athletics wrote: Seconded, this is important.

Well, I only asked because the original announcement was that all claims had to be in by Sunday, but there was no mention of when a DB would be released.
To compare this year to previous seasons wouldn't be fair based on how disruptive DMB has been to all of these DMB-based leagues and their routines.
I'll be doing anything except assuming this season. I want to make sure the communication is clear and concise, especially if we have any GM's who may not have been here since 2005.

The database will be tomorrow. There's an unofficial one that's nearly totally accurate as it is that Pat T. did. I'm waiting till the last second I can for Dan's final build of it, but if it's not there when I wake up tomorrow I'll be done with it. So sometime tomorrow evening. I'm sure most if not all of you have seen the projections (available everywhere for awhile) and have been toying with the projections as is.
Plus having a 2.5 hour meeting and [basically] being forced out of my job, even if it's part time, consumed a lot of my time today. So fear not! The playing field will be level even for the GMs not here in 2005!
