I recently learned that Jason Giambi is limited to 1B/DH, so I'm looking to move him.

2008 MLB - .247/.373/.502, 32 HR, 14.2% BB Rate
2009 CHONE - .239/.385/.475, .860 OPS, 26 HR
2009 BJames - .244/.388/.484, .872 OPS, 29 HR
2009 Oliver - .259/.388/.503, .891 OPS, 29 HR

He was 34th in the league in OPS last year. If we assume 10 guys get semi-regular playing time on every MLB team, that's 300 players, it puts him ~ the top 10 % of hitters in the league for OPS. His contract is very affordable for Oakland, so I'd be surprised if his 2010 option didn't get picked up.

His UZR for last year was only -1.8 which was better than Morneau -4.2, Cabrera -4.3, LaRoche -5.1, Gonzalez -7.0, Loney -7.4, Fielder -7.8, Jacobs -11.6, plus in 2007 it was +1.0 so he shouldn't be pigeonholed as a DH only.

He doesn't have a future with the young Rays, but he could definitely help a lot of teams. He will to be gone by the time projections come out. Looking for pitching mostly. Also willing to pair him with a prospect for a prospect upgrade.

Thanks,
P.

uhm, you're kidding about the "recently" part, right? I mean, you could play him elsewhere, but it'd be like putting a guy wearing a concrete glove in a sausage suit at the position.

Ha! Lest you forget about the game he played at 3b for Oakland in 1999.
