While subbing today I used the following for a current events assignment with a class of juniors in a computer lab.

A test of geography ...

Drag the country's name onto the map. There is no humbling score nor time limit, but rather this exercise is a learning tool. Don't be afraid to make an error, and once you finish the puzzle, you will be far more educated about this very intense part of our world.

Couldn't remember which way Mali/Mauritania or Niger/Chad went, and had a couple of the 'stans mixed up. Kind of had to guess on which way Armenia/Azerbaijan went, although I should know exactly how Armenia is situated because of The Shield.

I must have been out of school for way longer than I realized, because that was much harder than I thought it was going to be. WOW

If anyone likes the onion, I highly suggest you get the onion atlas. It will give you hours of laughs.

I was pretty good on Israel and the surrounding area, but the mess of former Soviet republics and North Africa? Ouch. As far as the onion atlas goes, it started out funny but jokes about 14 year olds being given HIV by rapists start getting old after the 78-79th time (literally every page about Africa has some sort of HIV joke that is wildly offensive and even worse isn't really that funny).
