The trading deadline for trades to go into the 2008 database is this Sunday, August 31st at 11:59 PM.

Trades can still be made to keep activity flowing as we decided upon last year, but will be OOPSS only.

Not sure if its ever been discussed, or if it even makes sense since we have already a late deadline and we don't have salary caps, but have we ever thought about trades after the deadline sort of like a a MLB system where players have to clear waivers?

Because trades after August 31 don't affect the DB anyway, I think that the way it would make sense, if people wanted to have it, is to have it run from August 1 to 31.

I think incorporating the draft picks for August is enough. I think waivers are a pretty cool idea, just not something we should do. Probably too much hassle for its ultimate worth.

Yeah, I mean does anyone really think you're going to slip someone through waivers in order to trade them without them being claimed and then pulled back by the team that put them on waivers?

Agreed, one of the major reasons in MLB that teams won't lay down claims is because of contracts (case in point Dunn and Dodgers this year), there's not really that factor in IBC.
