Dontrelle Willis

Post by Astros »

I need a ruling from the ExCo.

I've been watching the minor league roster status of Willis every week since he's been down, as the Tigers are apparently working with him to adjust his delivery so his innings have been sporatic to say the least. I checked the Lakeland roster at BA on Tuesday last week after getting back from traveling too make sure he was still active before I submitted my IBC roster. They still listed him on the Active roster. This weekend I noticed his status has changed to the 7-day DL. Since the change I dug a little deeper and went to the FSL league web site and checked transactions, which noted that Lakeland put Willis on the DL on Friday, July 4th. According to the FSL league site, I shouldn't have had him on my active roster last week.

I'll put him on the DL immediately, however just need to know whether its going to be for the minor league 7 days (assuming he comes off after 7 days) or double the time (or plus two weeks) for a DL violation?

Still not real clear on whether we are using Baseball America for minor league DL monitoring or needing to dig down to each official league site every week?

Anyways, let me know.

No penalty here. Just DL him immediately and activate him at the appropriate time.

Hey, on that same note, I got an email from somebody telling me that Felix Pie went on the minor league DL, but when I went to check, he was playing. Checking back, I found he was officially on the Minor League DL for 7 days. I was planning on sitting him now, when would it be ok to activate him?

I don't think time constraints matter for major league DL. If he's on the DL on Saturday at midnight, then he's not eligible. Otherwise he is.
