What's to say? The goal of the year was to suck. And suck we did. It's a bit humbling to go from a consistent 100+ win team for a decade to 40 wins, but that's what happens when you get old. For that whole run I had, Trout was the guy. He got old. Arenado got old. The supporting cast either got hurt or old. It is what it is.

No half measures for me: I embraced the 2-3 year rebuild. With very minimal trading activity throughout the year, I relied on adds/drops to round out the squad. Last year's draft was a massive hit*, and we'll need to replicate that this year.

We'll keep track of the trades this offseason here, and are fully prepared to pick in the top 3 again a year from now, with an eye on getting out of the doldrums in 2027.

*No draft classes are a massive hit until players are mashing in MLB, but early returns a year later are excellent
