I am celebrating my 71st birthday today ... and I noticed this was my 20th season in the IBC.
Am I the oldest GM in the IBC?

Are you both the oldest AND northernmost, latitudinally? We should make you a t-shirt for sure.

Thanks guys ... Drakes Island (in Wells, Maine) is located at 43 degrees 19' 32.33" N 70 degrees 33' 12.11" W and the beer of the day is Epiphany - an awesome DIPA from Foundation Brewing. It is also Epiphany's 11th birthday today and they are selling 4 packs for $11 ... So far I have 12 4 packs ...

I could have sworn Mueller and I were roughly the 2nd oldest (58), no?

Excellent. Do you have to go back and forth to the Brewery in the snow periodically all day to take advantage? That's earning it. I'm a big fan of Maine Brewing Co.'s "Lunch" which is regularly on a few taps around town here.
It is super nice up there in Wells and Ogonquit. I love it. I'm planning on bringing my wife up there next summer to continue to try to prove to her that going to the beach outside Brazil isn't all bad. I try to explain that New England beaches are more about the whole vibe than the actual beach. Lobstah or clam shacks, chowda, boats, rocks, seaweed, horseshoe crabs etc. I might definitely have to hit you up for some tips before I pick places to stay, eat and drink in the area.

Damn Ken. You're old.
This whole conversation makes me feel young-er. I dig it. Who else is older than the hills?

If you like Lunch you should try Dinner if you ever get the chance. Even better. When I go back to Rhode Island in the summer I always make sure to go to my local bar and have one(or three)

Maine Beer Company also brews Breakfast, another fine DIPA ... More then once I have enjoyed all three ...

Maine Beer Company is very good...Bissell Brothers is better. Lone Pine has some excellent ones, too.

Maine Beer Co is a cool brewery, Stars and Stripes is right around the corner and veteran owned. I love Bissell brothers. If you find your way to Rhode Island, try Whalers(rise specifically) and Tilted Barn.

Unfortunately Stars and Stripes closed as Patti and I enjoyed it ... Maine currently has 176 active breweries - many with several tasting rooms or pubs. A nice place to go to sample good Maine beer is in the north part of Portland where you park at any of these breweries and you can easily walk from one to another: Foundation, Allagash, Definitive, Battery Steele & Austin Street ...

Duck Fat is incredible. Novare Res is one of the best bars in the US to get a beer. Portland is awesome.

I once dated a girl from way up near Presque Isle, ME. Even the friggin' potato trains don't go up that far. She once told me her dad had buried the family savings somewhere in their yard for safekeeping. The only thing I remember about that dude is that he had a silver mullet and wore a Canadian tuxedo pretty much every day of his life. I did not mess with him. 100% chance he owned more than one gun.
Connecticut has had a pretty nice explosion of smaller craft breweries in the last 15 years or so. I can't say I've been to too many taprooms other than a few in the Hartford area (like Hooker in Bloomfield) but Fox Farm makes such incredibly delicious IPAs I have no problem putting them right up there with Treehouse. The taproom is fine, but the beer is amazing. If you're headed to the casinos in CT, it's in Salem, which is just past Colchester on Route 2, not too far from Norwich.
