IBC

Most of you know that I have been involved in a fun pool called the Home Run Pool for a long time now. We have had several IBCers win over the years (Jake Levine, Jim Berger, Brett Degen, myself). The old guys who run it have mostly handed over the keys to me, which means I can modernize it a little. But I'd like your feedback. For this year, entries will be accepted directly on the site through Google forms. No more paper. Paypal will be accepted. No more checks. What's the right price point for entry? It's currently $25. Last year's winner took in $2,000. Does that need to change?

This is one of those fine line lottery questions. Like would more people participate if it was cheaper, or would you just have the same amount of people submitting more entries for the same amount they usually spend.

If there has been significant input saying people would like to spend less, then 10/15 is a good option, otherwise you are just going to end up with the latter result.

I'm going to hop back in this year. It's a season long (very long) bet so I wouldn't drop it from $25.

If any change, why not just an even 20?

Settled on $25. If we need to adjust in the future, we can.

For those who are interested: entries due before 1 p.m. on March 30 (Opening Day). Make sure you don't forget. With online payment and easy entries, I expect the pool to grow from the 200+ entries last year.

Alright guys: last reminder. Entries are due by first pitch on THURSDAY. Get your entries in and share with your friends. Let's make this year the biggest ever.
