Draft Discussion

It's been dry on the message boards lately.

Let's stir some shit up during the draft.

12 hours into the draft and already two surprises - was surprised House went No. 2 and Jobe went No. 4.

Truthfully I was a little relieved when I slid a little bit, I'm actually not so excited about Leiter. If I believe the things I believe then Jobe was my #1 pitching prospect, with obviously the risk being that his arm falls off a la Lawlar. Thought long and hard about Suzuki and will deeply regret it if he ends up in Orange and Black IRL I'm sure.

Well, that was easy. Was hoping Watson would fall, but I'll happily take Davis.

Wrong. The biggest surprise is we're 10 picks in. It took until March 3 at 6:30 pm ET to get there last year.

Ty Madden was the guy I wanted the most, but I felt my spot was just a little bit too high to take him. I didn't really hold out hope for him to make it back to me.

Petty's got two 70 pitches. I thought about him at 19.

Can’t believe Aaron didn’t take the guy named Bubba. But now I have two Bubbas, which has to be some kind of record.

If not for his recent retirement, you could have also had One Time Sure Thing Bubba Starling, too!

Bubba Starling was my first pick when I blew my team up after 2011 to rebuild. Beware of drafting guys named Bubba, they break your heart

I really wanted Lazaro Montes but couldn't pass on Carson Williams at that spot. I fear I will regret not drafting the Cuban slugger. Stupid to think he'd drop to 55 with Perryman picking at 41.

Cleveland fails to make their first pick of the draft and is skipped. Mets are up.

... also, I will trade either one of my new Venezuelan SS for someone's upcoming pick because I forgot about a guy. Someone would get fired from the war-room if it wasn't only me.

Is the 55 man limit still valid? Several teams are over now that we're getting towards the third round.

As of now I think I see:

Detroit - 1 over
Cleveland - 1 over
Seattle - 1 over
Atlanta - 3 over
Pittsburgh - 1 over
Arizona - 1 over
LA Dodgers - 2 over
San Francisco - 1 over

Though I'm half asleep and may need to double-check before reminding those guys.
