2021 Draft Discussion

The place to come to talk about all things IBC related. Or not IBC related. Just keep it reasonably respectful.

This actually is not a rule ... Every year GMs have the opportunity to indicate/state that he wants to have a drafted eligible player who also has a projection remain on the drafted or rookie roster. Shawn puts the player there where he remains as long as the GM does not activate and play such declared player(s) that year.

That's my point, the activation of the player with the usable projection shouldn't mean you have to pick up another drafted player.

Well I respectfully disagree with that as I am in favor of retaining a rookie/draftee/developmental roster of at least (required) 10 players ... what I am not opposed to is expanding the definition of these non-active players eligible to be this roster to address the issue of development for young international players, high school draftees, etc. Juan Soto at 19 being more then to play MLB is a definite outlier.

I think around the current rules you are basically precluded from tanking (though Hamlin might push that roster of 26 to the limit) and you can't load up on sim guys either to carry a massive roster (not sure why you would want to anyway). To me there have only been a couple of instances of roster crunches where the two year draftee guy requirement seems to limit the inactive part of my bench.

Bigger question, why is the first round taking so long, averaging like 3 picks a day at this rate.

I totally agree with having a farm system. Just not sure why it has to be at least 10 guys from the last 2 drafts. Could it just be 10 guys without projections? Or maybe 15?

Missing your pick with Kim on the board seems like a body blow.

Lucky for me Bart didn't hit last year and Melendez might have the lowest batting average projection of any non pitcher in the SIM.

Is there a way to make the draft thread more prominent? I wonder if it's an out of sight out of mind thing.

12 years in with a solid roster. Damn shame. Sorry to see you go, but I guess people have their reasons.

Also, whoever you are you are all already losing the draft because I am busy winning it. Hendrick and Miller will both be Top 50 prospects next year.

If it makes you feel better Miller was my guy until you nabbed him, then I had to go to plan B which was between Howard and PCA. Wrestled with that one for awhile. Totally blame you for making it tough on me, fucker.

Shocked PCA was there. Glad I could play a role in thwarting your plans.

My dude is top 10 prospect right now. I don't even think Buster rated that high (the last guy I got with #1, no pressure @SpennyT). Where is Josh Morgan these days? Has anyone talked to him the last decade?

He finally realized he can’t win the AL East anymore so he must have decided to be active on the boards instead!

Yeah you wish my move was back to the NL. Now that I'm out of stupid Canada I'm gonna stop being so polite, eh. I'm coming for you, Bornas. Buzzsaw rotation and a lineup about to pop with young stars. O's are rising.
